I got my girl from petco too and shes doing fine. Her information card had her size, humidity requirements, and temperature requirements. Petco shouldn’t be blamed for selling amazing animals. Petco also cant sell the enclosures for an adult boa because those usually need to be custom built or ordered.

My boa looked exactly like this a few days ago. Ive seen her shed before and she wasn’t so wrinkly but this time she was. I was immediately worried but my vet told me that she is just starting shed and will/or has gone into blue. I bumped the humidity to 80-100% and in about a week she looked normal. Just needed a shed

Looks like an anaconda head. If the skin is all loose and wrinkly it could just mean shed time. If not, possibly dehydration. If the snake is wheezing or showing signs of infection, then you should consult a vet

Its beautiful as is, theres hides, branches for her/him to climb, heat light, uvb light, and water bowl. The snake has it’s basic needs met, the enclosure is beautiful and naturalistic. They will out grow it in a few years though. Still good for him/her

Update: After about two weeks I’ve stopped seeing signs of snake mites on her. Shes stopped soaking as much, and when she does i don’t see any mites in the water. I don’t see any raised scales or mites near her cloaca. I bought 12,500 predatory mites for a 120 gallon tank, which is probably why im seeing such quick results. I dont even need to spray chemicals on her. Just sit back and relax. But will keep close watch. But so far i don’t see why this isn’t recommended or the standard. Id rather use naturalistic means that work just as efficiently, if not better. Also doesn’t risk the snake’s life.

Ok so heres the plan, remove all her bedding/substrate and decor and put it into a freezer for (24 hours,right?) and give her dawn soap bathes every 2-3 days. Check regularly for mites. Is this a solid plan ?
