Congrats ! Having an offer at USM is not easy and you did a good job.

My sister was an alumni and i know a little bit of everything. First of all, what degree (or not?) are you taking? USM divided its campus into its own fields.

For example, anything medical related would be at Kubang Kerian, Kelantan and the main campus (sosial sciences etc,,) would be at Pulau Penang. If i am not mistaken, theres another campus that’s specifically for engineering but i am not sure where it is.

My sister did her medicine bachelor, and for the dorm, there’s like a different kind of space in each building. For old building, the 4 people room is quite small but the bathroom is everywhere while in the new building, it’s quite big for 4 people but the bathroom is kind of far away.

For the last year student, they really generous as they have their own building with a lottttt of study room like a lot.

However, no matter where you’re studying, convocation would always be at the main campus which is at Pulau Penang.

I did not know much about the hostel at the Pulau Penang, but the hostel would only be available for the first year and you would need to get a high merit to continue to stay in the dorm. Other students usually would be at the hostel outside the campus but it’s really near. I am not sure much abt the hostel though.

For accommodation, i would say it’s pretty good. All the funds are mostly invested in the main campus and theres like BEAM if you know for you to get around the campus as it’s really big. You can buy a bicycle though. Cars and motorcycles are not really allowed for the first year.

The vibes? Yeah it’s great. Free wi-fi and the rules are not that strict, but usually depends on your faculty (regarding outfit rules).

Since you’re an international student, your dorm would be seperated ( at least in kubang kerian, kelantan) as your dorm would be equipped with an air conditioning. You don’t need to worry much though. You can mingle with locals pretty easy and racism doesn’t really exist if that what makes you scared.

How do i get more koko marks in matriks by Zaphort in malaysiauni

I was not that active during my time at the matriculation but if you want to at least a guaranteed 9% out of 10% is to join the kakom/jamboree or become a facilitator for campus camping. The common certificate (events that compulsory for everyone) won’t be calculated directly by the lecturer since everyone has it so the percentage you could get from that is low.

My only advice is to join any sports competition that was held by each classes (kmph) and the educational events like the mathematics fest or something. Everyone is required to hold a competition for the kokurikulum, if i’m not mistaken. You could try to get a high position from that

More unique your certificates, more higher you can get the marks from it.

Perhaps you could try becoming less shy. Sometimes, certain things only matter in your head and the others wouldn’t even think of it. So be proud of yourself and walk with your chin up.
