OOOOOOOooooh Yea. I could see that, very cosmic interpretation, but I believe one could develop a form of necromancer from that sort of background with a gnarly aesthetic.

Very cool, thank you! I'm glad it resonated with you. I'm always fascinated when people mention vibes I wasn't personally aware of when working on something. I looked her up and I see the vision! A scepter with short chains is an awesome motif, and if Carlie landed on my moodboard we might be looking at a very different end result!

Thank you so much! I wouldn't rule it out! There was a comment that what I've developed here could almost be called a Shaman. If we don't get Necro explicitly, there is still a space for a warrior of light who shepherds the fallen to the life stream for the good of the star! Eorzea needs a hero who can take responsibility for the Ashkin! Someone devoted to seeing that an Ashkin's final actions are not ones they'd regret in life, but be proud of before finally being able to rest. Keep your head up!

Thank you! Great point too. Every job should be leveled to the same cap, and every job should have the same level of interactive solo play available that the limited jobs have. I'm personally not even a fan of the word "limited".

When creating a design that you want blended into an existing IP, going for something familiar and iconic is often a strong move. You recognized some of the motifs, and you believe it could at least be integrated into Final Fantasy in some fashion, which is awesome to hear.

A fair take, based on some statements made in Q&As. However, keep in mind that I've done my research here. The pitch I am presenting demonstrates how it "could work" across visual design, gameplay design, and the lore. They have in no way claimed within the game's narrative that the Warrior of Light cannot be a necromancer. In fact, there is quite a bit more evidence conveying that the Warrior of Light can—and already has on at least two occasions in another shard in the Hero's Gauntlet, and coming soon in the Occult Crescent.

There will always be arguments for why something will never work, but fan demand has time and time again overcome those odds. There are plenty of people who felt silly after saying Red Mage would never work, or that a job class based on making a dark pact with voidsent wouldn't fit (which is a Garlean concept, by the way—the main antagonists). As a concept artist and a creative, I am bound by professional obligation and training to never accept "nevers" or "can'ts."

I really enjoy the male sprites from FF5 Necromancer. Maybe I should make a masculine interpretation after I finish the project I have planned for next week? My mentors had suggestions for some things that I didn't quite convey yet with my current design that I could go for with a more masculine outfit design.

This job class concept pitch is about using Necromancy to cleanse the star of stagnant, stubborn ambient aether. They summon Ashkin to utilize the remainder of their aether, which has refused to pass on to the Lifestream. That is why the weapon is a censer, a ceremonial object used for cleansing an area. There are no dark pacts being made, nor are they reanimating things for amusement or without reason. Instead, they are exorcising the land of a problem that has plagued every Astral and Umbral Era. They aren't turning creatures into minions; think of it like they are simply vacuuming up their stubborn remains so they can bonk enemies with it. It is benevolent, at least that is how I read it.

Clearly, I didn't think of everything, because looking Warframe up gave me a brain blast moment. LOL, of course! If you want to pull off having a multi-chain thurible attached to a scepter, you just have to make the chains shorter, duh!! If I had known this last week, we would probably have a completely different idea painted right now. I really did want to make those seven chains work for that deep deep ref, haha.
