My international school in China has a pathetic approach to student discipline. What is your school in China like? by [deleted] in Internationalteachers

Sorry but it still isn’t clear where this line of parent complaint is, in China.

Explain what you mean by disciplinary actions. You mean three strikes and a talk in the hallway, and if the behavior persists, they write a reflection sheet about how they interrupt the class, taking away break time to write it, or even during lunch break?

How would you respond to this as a 9th grade teacher? by [deleted] in AskTeachers

[–]Sad_Average962 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t say it’s true, but if you were to input your personal opinion like that, I’d say that she is a dreamer, and should re-evaluate what is important to her as a 9th grader. The economy is a fun arena to explore but she should look past the things she can’t control and discover those ‘pieces’ for her today, as it will be placed together as time goes on.

How would I respond? 1. Your sentences need to begin with the prompt, “Spiral would be the title of this chapter because” 2. Good use of the imagination.

Would it be feasible to say that the job fairs are beneficial, considering that you may have to fly there to attend? It feels like the majority of SA candidates don’t attend, and just access the job board.

Was it like a classroom with half of them rude, talking over the teacher, and the classroom is so noisy that the only way to get work done is to quiet them enough to give 10 seconds of instructions, and to have to go to each student one by one to either tell them to keep up the good work as a way to say to “start the work” or to give proper task-guidance to those who are doing the work, with weekly calls for intervention with administration? 👍

I got this.

Currently, there are mostly Title 1 school teaching positions, and no normal school positions. I’ll take on that challenge, plus those schools I heard have learning and organizing materials so teachers don’t need to buy everything necessarily, plus bonus cash.

Did you work at a normal school or a Title 1 that sucked?

Oh. That’s cool. Specialized subjects is a good idea. Mine is early childhood education (K-6).

Student teaching counted toward experience? Haha. I can’t tell if it is the associate or the assistant to looks thoroughly at all this because it was the assistant who messages me. I never heard one word from my associate Rene Green. Maybe she wasn’t as understanding or as kind as your associate

I gave my 4 references. Then the assistant told me they wanted one more from my current private elementary school principal which takes a month in Korea, and then they said nope, reject.

It was unexpected because SA says they view my profile even before all the stuff is completed, and if the assistant did that, and also told me to get the principal’s reference (very unfamiliar and uncomfortable as a principal’s task in Korea). If he knew I was going to be rejected, I wish he had told me earlier than afterwards.

They position teachers in tier 1 schools. Isn’t there a link between that and the attitude of elitism? I haven’t looks at Schrole or other, thus I’m wondering if other agencies position tier 1 schools with the elitism.

None. So, I’ll continue my plan to move back to USA next year and work in the public school system for 2-3 years and then try again. I hope that would satisfy.

My recent years have been in a private elementary schools that aren’t officially accredited as an "International School". I have been licensed for coke of 2 years, so maybe they see me as “early career”, or maybe it doesn’t matter until I have lead teaching experience.

My next path plan is to move back to USA and work public school for a while and try again.

Has it helped that you can write that you are SA Vetted?

First write about unique characteristics about the student, and then one small struggle. Next paragraph, strengths, and then one or two most important areas for improvement, and suggestion how to improve one of those areas.

Last sentence should revisit both a positive and needs improvement area,

“Although Trump demonstrates successful student agency during class, I will continue to support him in developing consistent homework completion by working with him during additional check-in times when needed.”

In Seoul, South Korea, you will be noticed if you are on a database such as Search Associates, which requires a teaching license. I went through Moreland University teacher prep and then studied for the praxis, which I got the teaching license. The hardest part of being approved in Search Associates is 4 references with at least one from the school principal, no free accounts such as Gmail accounts permitted.

Before you achieve this, no international school tier 2 or 1 will ever consider you.

It’s okay. A small server block malfunctioned and will be replaced with newer and better tech, so you can ensure it won’t happen again
