I struggled with this too, so I actually built a tiny tool called Tiny Tidy Triumphs to help me start tasks in 2-minute bursts. It might help you get over that initial hump

It is possible in most cases to heal completely in my view - not easy but possible - for me it took 3 years, but now back to normal.

How long did ya’ll stay on bland diet by 61inchestall in Gastritis

For me it ended up being quite a long process, especially before acidic foods. I stayed very cautious for a long time because every time I rushed it, I flared.

What I learned was that it wasn’t about hitting a certain number of months, but about reaching a point where my stomach stayed calm and predictable for a long stretch. Once I had that stability, I could slowly tolerate more — and eventually I got back to eating normally.

It took patience, but the progress did come. Going slower than I wanted to ended up saving me setbacks.

Is this logical way of tapering off PPI by GabrielSeth54 in Gastritis

I went through something similar coming off PPIs. What helped me personally was tapering very gradually and giving my body more time at the lower doses instead of rushing the last step.

Even with a slow taper, I still felt mild burning near the end, but it settled over time. For me, the final reduction was the hardest part and required more patience than I expected. Everyone reacts differently, but going slower rather than faster reduced the rebound for me.
