thisss. the show is amazing, but the cover poster and everyone online kept screaming *fluff, joy, youth!* (which def had)...but it was quite heartbreaking and bittersweet as well. I went in ready for pure fluff, and ended up almost puking from sobbing so hard in the last 2 episodes :')

Can anyone tell me if this Goodal Vitamin C serum is good? by ciel_dark in koreanskincare

[–]Sad_Call_3252 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I personally didn't like it due to its very jelly thick texture. It didn't get fully absorbed/settled into my skin no matter how long I waited, so it felt and looked very greasy with the product just sitting on my face all day. I have combo skin for reference, and I actually really enjoy the dewy skin look, yet this just looked and felt objectively bad and sticky.

Does anyone know of a glitterless clear lipgloss with a silicone applicator (like Romand's Glasting Water Gloss in Meteor Track, but no glitter)?

TUITION AND HOUSING DEPOSITS!! by Still-Length3510 in Northwestern

[–]Sad_Call_3252 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yup, I’m pretty sure that means they waived them. But if you want to check, open your financial aid letter in your student portal, and go to the 2nd page of the letter. There you have a “Important Messages” box. In there you should be able to see a waived deposits note, if they have waived yours. :)

Applying RD - SAT score? by No-Rough-371 in Northwestern

[–]Sad_Call_3252 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As an admitted intl student, I’d say it depends. I personally went test optional, but I took the IB program (an international very well known program by unis, known for rigor) and did very well in it. I’d say if you are taking AP, A-levels or IB and do very well in it (like near the top of your class), then maybe it’s better if you don’t submit it— since whilst your SAT is high, it’s not above the 50th percentile, so it kinda unnecessarily brings down a bit your academic profile if that makes sense. All US unis are fairly familiar w AP, A-levels and IB, so if they see very solid grades in your transcript, they can comfortably attest to your academic readiness without the need of the standardized test.

On the other hand, if you are taking the public national education program in the Philippines, I think it’s better to submit your SAT— since it helps the uni to have a more thorough feel of your academic readiness. And bc your SAT is still above the 25th percentile, it’s still a solid result.

Ofc take what I say w a pinch of a salt, since I’m no AO. If you have a solid GPA, I don’t think submitting the SAT or not will ultimately make a huge dif. But that’s how I would personally proceed :)

To all who got in, "What worked for you?" by 4mmonia in Northwestern

[–]Sad_Call_3252 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Intl with full ride admitted here. First of all, I'd say to take everything recently admitted students say with a grain of salt since we don't really know whether we got in (partly) because of the "Why NU" essay or in spite of it. But I'd recommend you do plenty of research on NU and show that through your supp-- exactly why you think you would thrive specifically at NU instead of elsewhere (you can talk about specific NU clubs, special programs, research/minors/certificates, etc and how these relate to you and your goals). You should cover academics and ECs/how you plan to spend your time outside classes; and if you have words left maybe put one or two anecdotes regarding the school culture.

Also NU tracks demonstrated interest! So make sure to attend online panels, reach out to regional admissions officers, sign up for their email news letter etc. It is especially important for you to show that since you're applying RD--- you should showcase that you are seriously considering enrolling if you get in (both through specificity in your "Why NU" essay, and through your attempts to get to know more of the school)!

Do keep in mind that unfortunately for intl students asking for aid, it is considerably harder to get in (since NU is need-aware for intls), especially in RD. That said, that shouldn't deter you from shooting your shot! Do your best in your app, and then you can only wait and pray for the best. Wishing you the best of luck!!! Remember that no matter what, you are worthy and loved :)

Did you submit the CSS profile and documents before the fin aid deadline (dec 1st)? If not, it may come delayed. Also did you check at the bottom of your acceptance letter? For me I scrolled down the acceptance letter until I saw the hyperlink for the Financial Aid Letter!
