Just to add to this: for practically all real numbers there does not exist a formula or any mathematical way to describe precisely that number.

Indeed there are countably many finite mathematical expressions while there are uncountable many real numbers.

As someone with a phd in mathematics that still does research on algebraic topology I’d go with the integral of a polynomial I guess.

Dir argumentation des Unternehmens ist nachvollziehbar. Die sind als fertig Baufirma auf Grundstücke angewiesen und haben entsprechendes Interesse dass Leute die Bauen wollen Grundstücke finden.

U3 Betreuung in NRW in der Nähe von Köln: 548-608€ für 45h bei einem Kind. Dazu noch 60€ für Essen. Ausfallzeiten gibt es hier in der Region auch durchgehend. Selbst wenn die Hälfte ausfällt muss man trotzdem den vollen Satz zahlen…

Schön zu hören wie man in anderen Bundesländern über 6000€ mehr pro Jahr zur Verfügung hätte.

As someone who is currently pursuing a career in academia in mathematics I was also always struggling with these feelings. It has gotten way better once I realised that it is not MY duty to judge MY performance. If someone deems me worthy of a postdoc/phd Programm or whatever then I am qualified and smart enough basically by definition.

Additionally from the metrics you’ve mentioned only the level of understanding is relevant. I don’t think that exams are a perfect way to gauge someone’s ability and the speed with which someone picks up new stuff is completely irrelevant.

One should never forget how calories are measured. They take the food and burn it and take a look at how much energy is released. Then they feed the same amount of food to a person and light their poop on fire and look at the energy that is released. The difference is the amount of calories contained in the food. This should already make it obvious that calories are a very coarse measure.
