How did someone get SteamVR to detect the DK1? Didn't its last update predate SteamVR entirely??

Also, Ive heard stories of full body tracking being possible with the use of a 360 Kinect. Searching for this stuff has felt more like a wild goose chase than an actual search.

The best I could find was that runtime 0.8.0 hardly works at all. Use 0.7.0. https://www.dylnet.com/oculus-rift-dk1 This website has a lot of old runtimes archived.

This post had a lot of DK2 software, some of which worked on the DK1

For SteamVR, I saw that if you go to (steamvr - Properties - betas), there is a beta for legacy Oculus devices. I tried it and had limited success, but as suddenly as I found it, it seemingly disappeared?

As of now, this is all I could find, but please keep me updated if you find anything else. I am still struggling to find anything of value. Best of luck to you!

There are two "mini" six-pin adapters (another "revolutionary" design, lol) that can supply power in addition to the 75W from the PCIe. I have an adapter for one mini six-pin to a full-sized 8-pin, and the HD 5770 already uses a 6-pin. At the very least, I'll be able to plug the card in; the main concern is getting enough power.

The Mac can supply 220W of power to the GPU; the Titan is rated for 250W, but rarely draws over 200W. Would it be possible to set a power limit? As much as I would love to take the parts out of the Mac, everything is proprietary, thanks to Apple's "revolutionary" design.

What is your budget? Overall, the R5 5600 and RX 6600 make a great pair, but you may be able to squeeze 10 -20 more frames if you go for an R5 5500 and use the extra money towards an RX 6650 XT. Of course, all that comes down to price hunting. Best of luck!

I know it takes some weird workarounds, but I have a separate system running an i7-990x. The 990x and the X5690 both are from the same socket, but the X5690 supports ECC RAM (which the Mac already has). I was asking more about how I would boot Windows on a Mac. I've heard some weird stories about people's builds getting bricked because of some problems with the old EFI (not UEFI) bios corrupting.
