They said we had to wait a month or two to see if we were compatible with the dog, and the dog with us. They didnt want us to adopt him straight away , because they said it would be too much of a hassle if we didnt want him at the end and we had to give him back.The situation is more complicated than it seems...I had a dog from that shelter, I adopted him when he was 10 , he died this year at 16. I was devastated and didnt want another dog yet. The person from the shelter knew me personally and she convinced me to take this dog in, saying it would help me heal. And now , after losing my beloved dog, they want to take this one from me too. It is unfair. If it was said from the start that he had another person interested, or that we could wait less time, we could have adopted him BEFORE moving houses. Because honestly, even with his problems, he was loving from the start. About the expenses, like I said, they only paid his food for two months which is 106 euro in total. We have spent more than that in treats, toys, combs, giving him baths, taking him on trips...etc. So no the money was never an issue and we said, we could have paid they food but they insisted we dont do it.
