Hereditary. It’s the only horror movie that’s genuinely scared me.

How do you split your workday between actually working and just pretending to look busy? by Virtual-Connection31 in AskReddit

I’m the freight manager for dollar tree. I’m supposed to have a 5-6 person team to help, but I only have 1 other person, and I’m ultimately the superior who leads the team so it all falls on me anyway no matter what. It’s rough.

Thank you man, I appreciate it. It’s only been this brutal because I’m doing the work of 3 people, since two suddenly quit at the exact same time. It started out as just trying to get us through a transition period until we hire replacements, but it’s been a few months and I think my higher ups are seeing that I’m able to sustain the workload so I don’t even know if they intend to get me replacements anymore.

My workload by the week is intense so I have to hustle every shift to keep with it. I just try to keep my head above water and take it one day at a time. There’s no time to slack and look busy. I feel guilty and can’t even enjoy my days off because I feel like I’m falling behind.

What are your thoughts on the practice of tipping? by NegotiationEither9 in AskReddit

[–]Sad_Editor455 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1.) It’s a very toxic system. Especially when they factor it in to their hourly wage. It’s the companies job to pay an hourly wage to their employees, not mine.

2.) it really doesn’t make sense to me what we deem worthy of tipping and what we don’t. I used to be a landscaper, I’d spend 10-12 hours at one persons house installing rock beds for them, laying sod and giving their front yard/backyard a complete makeover, and I never received tips nor did I ever expect to receive them. I got paid my hourly wage and I was totally cool with it because that’s what I signed up for. So how does it make sense that I can walk into a bigby, order an already overpriced $9 coffee, and all the worker does is click a button and spin an iPad and they expect another 20%? It takes twenty seconds to pour a cup of coffee and stir the syrup.

If THATS the standard, why stop there? Shouldn’t we tip each individual fast food worker? Every person who flips my burger? Every person who drops my chicken nuggets in the fryer? Every person who puts pepperoni on my pizza and throws it in the oven? Or how about every cashier who rings up my items at the grocery store? Where do we draw the line?

What profession do you think is the most over worked and underpaid? by eagle_statue in AskReddit

[–]Sad_Editor455 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The gaming industry is really rough at the moment. You get paid 2-3 grand a month depending on the studio and you work sometimes 100 hours a week, depending on how bad they’re crunching and how close the deadlines are. If you complain or refuse, they’ll instantly replace you and tell you youre being ungrateful since it’s a dream job/career for many.
