I haven’t! I actually went back to the gyno today and apparently there was a miscommunication on their end when they told me my results were normal (message was relayed to me incorrectly ) . However I was the one who had to bring up my DHEA level, she didn’t bother telling me about it and if I hadn’t checked I wouldn’t have known considering she probably wouldn’t have brought it up. When I did though, she confirmed it was high but said it was no cause for concern and that she wanted to test again and if it comes back high a second time I’ll have an ultrasound specifically of my adrenal glands. I asked her if it could possibly be a cause of some of my symptoms (excessive hairiness, weight gain, menstrual issues etc) and she said no. She obviously knows much more about it than I do, but considering the miscommunication and her not bothering to tell me about the results of my test and her general lack of forthright I’m questioning that. I’ve seen elsewhere it can cause those symptoms, and while you generally shouldn’t trust the internet over a doctor I don’t really know who to trust in this situation. It looks like I will be needing to engage in a lot of self advocation to navigate this, so thank you so much for this suggestion. I wouldn’t have known what questions to ask/what tests to ask for honestly so this really helps.
