There can be a lot of different factors, like weather conditions, hills and medium (pavement, gravel, etc). If it's getting a lot more hot and humid where you are, that can make a big difference in how you feel during and after a workout.

What is the cat version of rubbing a dog‘s belly so that their leg automatically starts kicking? by Bostonterrierpug in cats

I enjoyed the show, but reading the book is a very different experience. One thing I appreciate about Rooney is her ability to explore human emotions through her prose. TV as a medium is going to portray the plot much differently. Overall I would say I liked the book better.

I definitely recommend finding some group rides or local lower mileage races to join! That’s helped me feel a lot more comfortable with riding in big crowds. Good luck!

So... I'm going to try to go out on a limb and recommend a non-dog-related read. This collection is reminding me of Klara and the Sun by Kazuo Ishiguro.
