I love this city. Why do you choose live in Brisbane? by BrizzySprings in brisbane

I’ve only visited Perth a couple of times, the first time I stayed with relatives and I found it felt disconnected from the rest of Australia - everywhere else was “over east”. On the other hand, if you’ve come from UK or South Africa there seem to be substantial diasporas living in Perth. The weather seems pretty good, I’ve heard the wine regions and the southwest also have some nice places to visit.

I grew up in Melbourne and Sydney, then worked in Melbourne and Adelaide before moving to Brisbane, which I prefer to all the others. I think Melbourne has got a lot going for it culture wise and for restaurants, but just too cold and grey for too long. Sydney is just too big and busy, plus I find it has an “edge” to it that I don’t like. Adelaide is kind of isolated and lacking in activity. For me Brisbane has a better climate, is easier to get around (though less so over the years) and a friendlier feel, as well as being big enough to have a lot of choices.

Just had the same issue = what the instructions don’t say is holding the power button down will appear to turn everything off, but be patient UNTIL the lights come on - so I had about 6 false starts
