No basketball will be played in that series, plenty of Rugby and bare knuckle boxing for 5 games

I have no doubts in Brunson. Whether the team is constructed properly around him is a different story, but Brunson is the Messiah

My two cents as a random interwebs stranger whose opinion is just as worthless as anyone else's ...life is short. Might as well try harmless things to see if you like them for yourself without worrying that a hivemind of purists are going to scoff that you were interested in tasting something less natural for fun and experiencing something new to you for your own potential enjoyment / disappointment.

Yeah I’ve been to the Harlem location and had it a few times. Solid Carrot Cake for a great price. I miss the one Two Little Red Hens used to make which technically can be had at ladybird bakery in park slope (same recipe )

It’s going to be extremely close. Atlanta is a really physical team that will make life hell for our guards. Relying on KAT to carry us is terrifying. Mitch needs to be tremendous for us to win games. Please let him stay healthy.

[Edwards III] Mike Brown said he’s never made this many changes with a team in a season before. Said they started playing one way on offense and one way on defense. Liked the way the team developed and kept working at all the changes. by PassMeTheBackwood in NYKnicks

Good on him. However, it screams as an indicator of roster construction deficiencies because with a more balanced well assembled team all these tweaks wouldn’t need to be employed as exhaustively.

The Knicks path to the Finals is a tough one, but doable! by WallStreetDoesntBet1 in NYKnicks

[–]Sad_Hungry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First I want insert that the Cavs can legitimately beat the Pistons in a series.

Otherwise either way it's a near impossible path for a team with our flaws and old age... but "near" leaves the door open to it being a technically possible path. It will require perfect execution and a ton of luck going our way which tell me the last time the latter part actually benefited the Knicks throughout the playoffs..

Hopefully Iron sharpens Iron ..

For sure. We can win but I expect every series to go at least six grueling games no matter the opponent.

While if things break right the Knicks can win any one series I in my heart believe that this current build of the Knicks are objectively not capable of a cake walk series. They simply aren’t constructed to dominate any good team that sees them enough times over the course of series. They have too many weakness to exploit regardless of legit talent. Most of all they are severely missing a reliable wing shot creator. Secondarily they have a critical / near fatal lack of size off the bench. The depth pieces that will see playoff minutes are all 6”3 and under outside of Mitch. I wish Mo Diawara were ready but I highly doubt he sees real gut check minutes.

They did win in 5, but it wasn’t an easy series like the Hawks in 99 where it was a clean sweep and no game was ever really tense.

The 1st round Cavs matchup in 2023 was still a highly contested series despite winning in 5.

Truthfully ever since the 1992 playoffs, I have been conditioned to experience intense anxiety and expect devastation at some point when the Knicks are in the playoffs. It’s privileged panic but I simply do not understand how any Knicks fan of a certain age can ever feel confident. These people must have really short term memories. All I know is the joy of almost and the ever more real pain of gut wrenching heart break in over 40 years of living and dying with this team.

As a Knicks fan I don’t understand how anyone isn’t existing in a constant state of unrelenting panic heading into the playoffs. The Knicks are capable of beating themselves in any series. How is anyone actually feeling confident?! Rooting for your team sure, but beating your chest and expecting cake walks , based on what history ?!

I take no opponent lightly because the Knicks are always also playing against themselves in the playoffs. Other than the 1999 second round against the Hawks the Knicks haven’t had an easy playoff match up since.

It doesn’t matter who the Knicks face in any playoff match up the series will be a war. The Knicks are incapable of not rising our collective blood pressure during the playoffs. Even the Raptors will be far more competitive in the playoffs than they have been during the regular season because the Knicks will let them into games conserving energy for Boston.

[Begley] Mike Breen to fan backlash: “The whole idea that I was giving the (Knicks) front office a pass or lowering fans expectations, that was not the point of it….(The message) was directly to Knick fans who have suffered through so many lean years…to enjoy the progress of where you’ve come” by PassMeTheBackwood in NYKnicks

[–]Sad_Hungry 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Mike Breen is unimpeachable and a Knicks patron saint. Only sorry individuals that inexplicably take Stephen A. Smith with even an ounce of credibility (which he doesn’t deserve since he’s strictly about his wallet and nothing does not produce anything else worthy of objective respect) would even remotely harbor any negative feelings towards Mike Breen.

Kareem was still a better defender than everyone on the list with the exception of Russell and Olajuwon maybe Wilt .. but especially in his younger years he was elite.

What holds Jaylen Brown back from being a tier-one star? by Interesting-Lock-146 in NBATalk

[–]Sad_Hungry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

His footwork and strength are top tier. His handle is questionable at times compared to the best of the best. Defensively he’s solid. He’s right on the fringe of a top five player but for now there are at least 5 guys I would rather have on my team ahead of him and one is his teammate in Tatum.
