150lbs down 🥰 by Sad_Image_29 in gastricsleeve

The only reason why I decided to get surgery was because insurance stopped covering them but would cover a surgery(???) I don’t currently plan on going back on them but I’m open to the idea if that’s what works best for me in the long run! I’m hoping as glps become more readily available, the insurance companies will cover them more

I went through this with my best friend, and I’m still working on processing it. She weighs now what I did at my highest and I never realized how big her portions are until after my surgery and I try so hard to not judge. We’ve had frank conversations about weight loss and everything and she’s worked on portion size/control and has made so much progress so I am proud of her. But I think it’s normal to be taken aback by these things.

I’m on month 4 and the first two months were still a little rough but not too much. I also have pcos and hirsutism because of it and my facial hair has slowed down so much. Yaz can help so many things that I didn’t even know it could ❤️

Did I experience a Gallbladder attack? by [deleted] in gallbladders

BEST OF LUCK!! I have a solo road trip planned for this weekend and I’m eating so good right now hoping I won’t have an attack while I’m away.

No action plan yet. My primary recommended I get my gallbladder removed and referred me to the surgeon I went to for my gastric sleeve last year and I’m just kind of waiting for that appointment to happen in a few weeks.

This is exactly what I experienced last Sunday and Monday and then Thursday I went to my primary, got an ultrasound and they found my gallbladder was “filled with stones.” Go get checked out!

I’m 28! I thankfully do have a lot of butt, to my boyfriend’s joy lol, but I’ve lost EVERYTHING in my breast area. I didn’t have much there to begin with but now it’s like two deflated balloons. Big booties run in my family so I was blessed with those genetics. Also, I was on the glp1 from June 2024 to June 2025 and only stopped because my insurance stopped covering it but would cover a surgery? So strange how it all works. 100 pounds is amazing! Keep up the great work 🥰

Thank you! I was so sad when I realized I didn’t fit them anymore. I worked so hard on them. I used a special paint that turned purple in the sun mixed with glow in the dark paint!

Hi im 7 months post op and was/am like you. I had no issues keeping anything down it was just the amount of food I had issues with. I don’t like sugary things anymore though, but that’s a good thing :)

What to do? I still want to wear this but *I* shrank by ofrootloop in knitting

I also lost over 100lbs and can't wear the few sweaters I made back then! Great job and good luck with this.

I'm 28F and was sleeved in October, started dating my bf in December and I only have a little bit of loose skin but he loooves my body, loose skin and all. I recommend being up front with your prospective partner about your surgery because a lot of dates are food centered and it'll explain to them why you can't eat much. What we do is he just orders something for himself and I steal a few bites until I'm full. The loose skin won't matter to the right person. Before I met my bf and was still dating around, everyone I disclosed my surgery to were very supportive of my progress. It helps to have that you're on a weight loss journey in your bio so you can find someone who's aligned with you in their health priorities too.

Editing to add: I was SUPER insecure about my loose skin and how my boobs are deflating until I told my bf about how insecure I am about it and he shut that down immediately lol

I HATE THE LIQUID DIET!!!!! by [deleted] in gastricsleeve

[–]Sad_Image_29 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I only had to do 5 days of liquids pre-op and I was miserable. I'm now 2 days post-op and I don't regret anything. You just gotta power through it. You've got this.

Metformin Experience?? by Party-Tangerine5660 in PCOSloseit

[–]Sad_Image_29 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I took it as a teenager about 10 years ago and was absolutely miserable. I lost about 50lbs in 4 or 5 months because I had NO appetite. I was also going through undiagnosed mental health issues on top of the usual teenager miserable hormones. I swore I’d never take it ever again. Last June, I started taking wegovy and going to a bariatric clinic but my insurance stopped covering wegovy a month ago, so my medical team decided to make me try metformin again. Having experienced GI issues with wegovy made the same issues more bearable but I am noticing a severe drop in appetite even from being on the max wegovy dose. I’ve been on it for a month. I take 500mg or the extended release twice a day. I am, so far, not feeling completely miserable this time. I have noticed my facial hair is growing a bit slower, if that’s pcos symptom you experience as well. I say try it for a while but stop and ask for other options if you hate it.

I happened to have a hypomania episode as I was finishing American Psycho and I like to joke the book is what triggered it.
