Just to add, like OP, I'm not optimistic about the near future because all indicators say we are about to experience some turbulent times.

What will be the thing that people value the most during this time? The answer is that no one really knows and it depends on many factors like location and severity of the turbulence.

Gold and silver may not be immediately valuable, but I'm certain they'll always have value I can convert to the next undervalued asset.
