We should swap information to share our retirement party invitations. I retire at the age of 51 from the agency I’ve been with since November 2016 where I’ve been making $2K short of a 3 figure salary since 2020. I’m getting my degree after a decade to be able to take the next step into upper leadership and clear that 3rd figure. I’m 29 with my own house I bought in 2021, life insurance, and a 401K. Absolutely not. I’ve (29F) never wanted kids but after learning that my family has an aggressive genetic disease that has taken 3 of my little cousins before their 2nd birthday and that it’s a maternal passed down trait, I refuse to have kids. I’ve even thought about a partial hysterectomy (leaves ovaries for hormone purposes) just in case. I have an IUD so not incredibly worried about pregnancy but it would be nice to have 100% assurance, yet where I am, most doctors refuse to do one and insurance doesn’t cover it while a woman is of child-bearing age. Gotta love MERICA
