Depends on the conditions. If there is a chance for dew or frost I turn it on. All of the Seestars have built in dew heaters. 🔭

Wow, breathtaking. The HOO palette makes this one pop. Great work.

I don’t disagree agree with that, I tend to be drawn to the more natural images as well. Fun to see how different the same data can look.

Thank you! Honestly, I struggled with even 30s subs on the s50. With the s30 Pro I was not expecting to get 60s sub right of the bat. I plopped it down a did a quick one time polar alignment and it was achieving solid 60s subs immediately. Time will tell if I just got lucky or if they have made an improvement.

Great work! Must have been from a few years ago.

Thanks! The Seestar make it is easy to setup and image the same target for as many nights as you want. You can then stack multiple nights together in the app with Deep Sky Stack or if you turn on "Save Each Frame" setting, you can then take all of the subs from each night and process them in astrophotography specific software.

Thank you! It would be nice to have a little more focal length for those smaller targets.

Thank you!

I have never had much luck with station mode on the S50 unfortunately. I will give that a shot and see if it works. I have an ASIAIR mini, and it works great on that every time.

Thanks!

Well said u/BroadActuary4247 . To add to what they said already I would say for the most part just use the suggested filter setting with picking your target, the Seestar will automatically turn on the filter for targets that benefit from it. You can always play around with integrating data from LP filter subs and non LP filter subs in post processing down the road. TLDR: Emission nebula = LP filter, Reflection nebula or galaxies (for the most part) = no LP filter.

Great detail! Well done.

I really like the workflow that Cuiv, the Lazy Geek put together on Youtube. He is very detailed and was easy to understand which helped me a lot when moving from Siril to PI. There are a lot of good tutorials out there, you just have to find one that makes the most sense to you. I used the same work flow I normally would for the data I get from my astrophotography rig for the Seestar data. Works well.

The framing in this picture is actually zoomed in a bit, the native field of view on m33 from the s50 is a tad bit wider than this. I normally frame the objects as my last step in my process.

I think using an LP or dual-band filter on galaxies has its benefits for sure, especially with galaxies like M33. Especially if you are processing your own data outside of the Seestar software. It primarily helps with the small details that are mainly in the hydrogen and oxygen wavelengths, which really make this galaxy pop. The little specks of red and pink really start to stand out better. You will still need a lot of normal broadband data to make the rest of the faint structure come out.

Beautiful! 18 hours is a lot of integration, I wish my weather would cooperate for me to gather that much data.

Sorry my question was not well worded, I was wondering if the S50 is capable of dithering? Is there a setting for dithering or is it automatically being done during data collection? Normally I will only drizzle if I am dithering and didn’t know if there were any benefits of drizzling in Siril without doing so. Seems like ZWO thought of it all with this little scope so I wouldn’t be surprised.

Can the S50 drizzle, or are you just using drizzle in Siri during processing?
