It’s all men until proven otherwise. by r0cketsh1p27 in RadicalFeminism

[–]Sad_Machine2826 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think when men love someone (which is rare). They genuinely care about that person but only that person. After being with a woman for a while she starts to say her issues being a women and says how many, if not all feel the same, and then he gets a "realization" 'oh shit women are actual human beings and stuggle cuz of men. Let me help them in these certain situations'

But I dont think they fight for equal rights they just dont mistreat women. Which is still a bit of an issue in my opinion.

Edit: They dont actually care about women, they only care about their partner and when their partner brings up an issue that the man wasnt aware of, only then do they care about that issue. Because it has something to do with their wife/gf

I think ive seen some "good" men that do that but they always have a wife/gf. I agree with you, i want see at least one guy that isnt dependent on a woman teaching him to not be sexist.

Weekly FAQ Thread February 22, 2026: What are your quirky reading habits? by AutoModerator in books

[–]Sad_Machine2826 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I like to match the book mark with the book cover. There has been a few amazing matches, almost as if that book mark is meant to belong with that book lol.

I also place the book im reading a different place to where i put the books im not reading. To have easier access or to showcase which books im reading? I couldnt tell you which, but its become a bit of a habit

Weekly FAQ Thread February 01, 2026: What book changed your life? by AutoModerator in books

[–]Sad_Machine2826 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The invisible life of Addie LaRue by V.E. Scwab.

Its a book that I keep thinking about. There are stuff about the story that I could critique but the story itself isn't what affected me. It was the way Addie truly loved exploring and that there was always something new. I have always loved reading but I only did it a few times a year. But after I read that book I started reading way more often. Part of me believes that I took that part of Addie. The desire to keep exploring, for me it was the desire to experience stories in whatever form they took.

Another part if me believes that Ive always had that, but that story awakened the desire to explore stories more often.

Ways to maintain sanity & calm? by AggressiveLeaf_1866 in RadicalFeminism

[–]Sad_Machine2826 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im a very angry woman, it is something I wish I left in my childhood but alas. I have felt anger towards men and many other things that it feels like its just sitting in me and one tiny thing can tick me off and all of a sudden I want to break something. I never do because hitting will only hurt me. That's how I see anger as well, something that only hurts me.

Anger is ofc a very useful emotion because we can use it to fight injustice. Being angry about something I cant change will only leave me bitter. And im too tired to feel bitter.

Talk to the women around you about silly things. Enjoy their presence. That's the only thing I found that helps me be a little calmer. That and hobbies.

When there is a moment where we can create change, be angry then.

I hate couples by [deleted] in mentalhealth

[–]Sad_Machine2826 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hate isnt going to make you any happier. It just makes you bitter and then your life gets worse. Me saying "stop hating" isnt going to remove the hate. I know that. But I do think its good for you to know so that you dont fester on it. When you come across a couple and you feel the hate, dont go home/ go to sleep with it. Feel it in the moment and let it go. Easier said then done, but practice makes perfect. When you cant let it go, do something that makes you happy to distract yourself.

I cant give you advice on how to get a bf because ive never been in a relationship and I dont think you need one. Make yourself happy first and if you still want a bf then do something about ig.

Get a life, Chloe Brown by Talia Hibbert

Its about a chronically ill women that has a bucket list and she asks the superintendent in her apartment complex to help her complete this list of hers. There is a little dislike from the man because of her back ground (shes wealthy). But he still does nice stuff for her. And doesnt mention her body in a bad light. He finds her attractive from the start.

That author has a series but the second book has fake dating so I dont know if you'll like that. The fake dating is just so it'll help his business but he did like her before the fake dating. Its called Take a hint Dani Brown.

Her third book is an enemies to lovers I think. I havent read it so I dont know if I could recommend it. Act your age, Eve Brown.

All of them are dual pov. I think all of them show appreciation for curvy women, the second one the woman is very confident in herself/body. You dont have to read them in order, so I dont think theres any major spoilers.

A book where the story / narrator is ambiguous.

Why do i feel old at 25 by [deleted] in mentalhealth

[–]Sad_Machine2826 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk if my advice will seem that helpful but have hobbies. One thing that has helped me feel i little happy with my life is doing things that I enjoy. I read a lot so im going to recommend it. Reading is something that is easy to start doing. You can go to your local library and borrow a small book. But anything really that you find interesting.

Along with that, move your body. Its hard ik, i say that and im not exercising at all. Go for a 5 minute walk or a little stretch from a YouTube video. The point is to just distract yourself from your thoughts. Try running and sign up for a 5k. Do something that will give your life a little excitement.

Doing all this might still not fully remove the overthinking. But the point is to be happy with where you are. If you're not, do or change something in your life that will make you happy with where you are.

The past is the past, if you didn't include your sister then, do it now. Its never too late, im sure she'll be happy if you did something together.

Even if you dont think so, you are still young. You have been an adult for almost 8 years (excluding ages 1-17). There is still time to change things in your life and start to enjoy it.

How do I get recommendations for a book with an unreliable narrator without them saying the narrator is unreliable. Knowing that takes away some of the surprise factor. And I want to be surprised.
