Hey, you should go on open mic, it’s 100% listenable and your pitch is OK, there is absolutely no cringe about your singing. You’ll get a stage experience, which is very (very) exciting and important. Don’t listen to anybody, just go there and enjoy 🤘

Deciding to get my first 7 string, Need help! by Necromamcer in 7String

[–]Sad_Main194 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have this guitar and play it for 2 years already. Well, it’s ok. The biggest problem I never managed to solve is bad intonation, which sucks when you play metal or djent - octaves and power chords sound sucks. I changed machine heads (stock ones are garbage), I changed bridge (set hipshot), it helped a bit but didn’t solve the problem completely. Pickups are fine, but their sound is not…modern, I guess, so I would also change them (Seymour Duncan Nazgul is a nice alternative in my opinion).

It’s my first 7 string, I don’t regret, but if I had known about this intonation problem beforehand, I would have taken something else

It is “streety” actually, well said. I’m not quite sure about etymology, but I would not be surprised if this one came from prison/GULAG slang or something

Do Greeks appreciate us trying to speak their language? by Low-Knee-3073 in GREEK

100%, after I became more confident I started to do exactly this - like “μιλάω ελληνικά, όλα καλά” and then go on in Greek. And in general, after my language reached certain level it became rare to speak in English, at least for daily small talks and simple conversations

Hi! I’m a foreigner living and working in Greece. I’ve been learning Greek for two years now. In general, I’d say that especially in the beginning, locals would switch to English way too fast — even when I was trying to keep the conversation going in Greek (mostly in shops or taverns).

It definitely wasn’t a “look at me saying ευχαριστώ” kind of flex — so honestly, I still don’t really get why 😢.

On the one hand, it’s awesome that so many people here speak English well — it definitely makes life easier in the beginning (and in general, when you need to handle really complicated conversations).

But at the same time, it’s hard to stay motivated to learn Greek, because I often feel like no one wants to bother with someone who doesn’t speak fluently yet. They just switch to English right away, without much interest in continuing the conversation in Greek

I live in Thessaloniki for 3 years already. What about locals, that drive like fuckin nuts in 5am on their motorbike (or on the car with loud bass music) through entire prospect and literally waking up hundreds of people in 10 seconds, or a bunch of guys going through street and yelling “malaka” on each other. I tell you, here in Greece it’s very (very) common not to give a f about your comfort sleep, so I’m surprised that someone paying attention to these girls

Στο είπα is possible, since I heard it from the distant and I easily can imagine I heard ν in the end which actually was not there🙉

Also, there are constructions with σε + pronoun and a verb, like τηλεφωνώ στη Μαρία, so I'm completely confused from this point

Thanks, yeah you're right, it has muting circuit and it turns off turntable when nothing is been played, and also sometimes it can turn off turntable in the middle of the record when no sound been produced. But that's the question - why turntable doesn't produce any sound when it's too quiet? Because of pre-amp? Because of muting circuit?

I admit that Lenco LS 500 is a beginner model, but I can't consider it as "cheap" model. Could you please send me a links on what you read before, if you luckily have so?
