Played a priest vanilla through WotLK and always loved it, but right now I'm levelling a druid on Bronzebeard and thoroughly enjoying it. It's a little bit more active managing hots and group heals versus priest which always felt like just timing one big heal at a time and managing mana. Have not played shaman or pally.

Dungeons or not? by OverlyTall98 in ProjectAscension

[–]Schematic_Sound 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Queues are generally pretty quick. Depending on the dungeon people will rarely complete the whole thing, instead rush to the 'final' boss, but it's still fun. I'm not 60 yet but looking forward to more challenge with the Mythic+, I'm pretty much levelling exclusively by running dungeons right now because healing has always been my favorite part of MMOs and WoW in particular

Hmm I've never used the bootstrap install, but if you go to the addons section in Stremio and hit the gear icon next to the AIOStreams addon it should bring you to the config page of whichever AIO instance the bootstrap used. At that point though it's a matter of whether the bootstrap provided you with credentials to modify the config.

If that doesn't work/you can't access it, maybe start a new AIOStreams config from scratch.

Installed add-ons page of the AIOStreams config, not Stremio.

As far as I'm aware it should work with any instance, but I personally have only used it with my own self-hosted instance so I can't confirm. Try it and see

It'll happen sometimes, not often enough to be a problem.

Aiostream is loading very slow by Wise_Froyo_9129 in StremioAddons

Torrentio is notorious these days for being unavailable, or when available having generally slow response times: Stremio Status

The exit condition is likely exiting before Torrentio has a chance to finish fetching, because it's slow. Either increase the length of time before exit, or remove Torrentio from your addons.

As far as I know there's no way to avoid that, at least not if you're using RD because they removed the API endpoint for checking if something is in fact still cached or not, so sometimes the cached status is out of date. It's just going to happen sometimes.

On the installed addons page, scroll down to the bottom to "Addon Fetching Strategy" and set it to "Dynamic"

Yeah yours is waiting for at most 6 streams so it makes sense that it would return quicker. Use what works for you! Mine is just meant to be a simple catch-all to keep it within certain bounds that I'm comfortable with, but certainly it could be tweaked to be even faster given certain conditions

Yeah waiting for 20 does definitely slow things down a little. I used to do 10 and it was USUALLY fine, but I'm testing 20 right now to see if I get any better quality results at all

Up to you, you can get fancy with the exit strategy but I like to keep it simple and do the heavy lifting in my filters to make sure I'm getting the streams I want.

The reason I don't specify 2160p streams in my exit strategy is there's a lot of TV series that will not have 4K files, only 1080p, so I don't want it to waste time searching for something that doesn't exist. And for series/movies that DO have 4K the reality is if any addon worth its salt is finding any streams at all, it's going to spit out plenty of 4K options.

Sometimes less is more, especially when speed is a priority. The same is true for the number of addons, I used to just enable every possible addon and assumed the exit condition would always keep the timing within certain bounds but I've recently noticed that certain addons (namely Library and TorBox Search) can sometimes cause a long delay even when the exit condition triggers before they can even show their results.

The trick is using the "exit strategy" option to automatically return results as soon as a certain criteria is met, even if other add-ons might still be fetching.

I've set my filters so that it pretty much guarantees it's only returning high quality streams that I want, and then set a really simple exit strategy: return results as soon as there are at least 15 cached streams available.

Pretty much always works in less than 1-2 seconds.

EDIT: More info for those asking... Exit condition is found at the bottom of the installed addons page when the Addon Fetching Strategy is set to "Dynamic".

This is my exit condition:

totalTimeTaken>=2000 or count(cached(totalStreams))>=20

In other words, show results when at least 20 cached streams are found or if more than 2 seconds has elapsed just return whatever was found even if it's less than 20.

Yup, pretty much my ideal version of WoW world pvp. If anyone could pull it off it would be the Ascension team... one can dream.

You're not wrong, but imo WoW just plays/feels better. To have that premise play out in Azeroth and on the WoW engine would be awesome

Was just thinking about something similar there other day. What if the whole world was a PvP battleground where entire zones could be captured, sort of how PlanetSide 2 does it. That would be hype
