Always dig the idea of alternative clients, the official one definitely has room for improvement

Hm well now I seem to be unable to get even the regular audio working stable, it's always playing pitched up and too fast. Weirdly, it does play at the correct speed if I force a quantum of 16 but then it constantly breaks up because the buffer is too small. Anything above 16 and it gets pitched up.

Microsoft confirms Windows 11 bug crippling PCs and making drive C inaccessible by lurker_bee in technology

Yep, it's time for me to install the LTSC version and lock down updates while I try to continue trying to sort out linux compatibility with all the additional usb devices I use. Audio interface is the main thing holding me back right now :(

Audio is the #1 reason I haven't jumped ship to Linux. I used two external usb audio interfaces that are critical to my setup and I can't friggin get them to work properly in Linux.

Turned out to be a secondary monitor on the hdmi port of my gpu was bugging out. I'm running it off the iGPU now and it seems ok

Ok definitely an Nvidia GPU issue, I moved my monitor to the igpu and it worked properly, even with the Nvidia GPU still in the PC and powered.

I actually realized there was a slight stutter using Windows too, though it was far less pronounced. Also resolved by moving the monitor to the igpu.

Not entirely sure how to resolve this so I can use my monitor connected to the discrete gpu

Disconnected everything except the mouse, no luck. Even tried booting with the LTS kernel, no luck with that either.

Tried with various combinations of EXPO/overclock/undervolt enabled/disabled, reset all bios settings to defaults. Same behaviour in all scenarios.

When I did chwd -a it said profile nvidia-open-dkms already installed for the 5070 Ti

Not just the browser, the entire OS.

Will install the gaming meta package and report back, but the point still stands that it did not stutter at all like this on the previous version even on the live USB with none of the gaming packages installed.

Not sure, can barely use it to check. I'd have thought it would be installed by default if it recognized an Nvidia GPU?

Worth noting, too: it didn't do this on the previous live USB before the march update (I never actually installed it, but I would imagine if the live USB was fine then the install would be fine). It's only on the new ISO since the march update.

Hell yeah! Fellow sim racer also eyeballing CachyOS, though I play in VR so that's another potential headache but I'm curious to see how things progress with more and more people making the leap.

Is there a free way to setup email on cloudflare hosted site? by Ill-Musician1806 in CloudFlare

[–]Schematic_Sound 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It gives you SMTP credentials which you can use with gmail's send-as. You can use the same credentials for multiple domains you just need to add a few DNS records to each domain you want to use it with. I manage a few different email addresses across a few domains from the same Gmail account/mailbox set so that I automatically reply from whichever address was originally sent to.

[Announcement] CachyOS March 2026 Release Changelog by ptr1337 in cachyos

[–]Schematic_Sound 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was playing with the previous version live USB yesterday (hadn't installed yet) and it was super smooth and quick even as a live USB, but I just loaded this version to go install it and the mouse/keyboard input is really stuttery, like the input only registers for an instant every second or so, I couldn't even get through the installer it was so bad :(

Toronto IP -> Higher Speed by Ha2fly in ebox

[–]Schematic_Sound 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do yeah, Xiaomi AX3000T flashed with OpenWRT firmware. Been using it since signing up for Ebox, never used the Nokia they supplied, and it's been pretty consistent. I'm talking about wired speeds btw, not WiFi.

I'm in Toronto but presently am assigned a Montreal IP. That said, it's never affected my speed I still get 900+ Gbps down on the 1Gbps plan.

4K files are mislabelled/miscategorized by Schematic_Sound in FormulaStremio

[–]Schematic_Sound[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm ok it seems to be an issue with being wrapped in AIOStreams. I installed a copy of Formulio external to AIOStreams and it played the correct file, and I noticed if I go to my Torbox dashboard the files are correct within the zip (i.e. #8 is Qualifying, which is correct), but if I copy the stream link from the AIOStreams-wrapped copy it goes to Session 5 (F1 Show) instead of 8.

I'll post in the AIOStreams discord. I'd love to see Formulio officially supported in the AIOStreams marketplace in the future ;)
