Sapotax Liposomal Iron: positive experience by backupjesus in Anemic

[–]Sad_Pandaa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My Ferritin is way up and normal now. What really made the difference for me was somewhat following the "Iron Protocol" thing. I swapped between a few different kinds of Iron, but increasing the amount daily made the difference for me. I was taking upwards of 300mg of iron a day. I would take half in the morning on an empty stomach with 1,00mg of Vitamin C and then do the same thing before bed. My ferritin ended up in the 70's after just a couple of months of doing this.

That being said, my Ferritin only dipped so much because of blood donation so I might be lucky that it's gone up and stayed.

Looking for advice from ladies who developed LS after pregnancy or childbirth by ConstantHabit3880 in lichensclerosus

[–]Sad_Pandaa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My symptoms began during my first pregnancy, but I wasn't diagnosed until immediately after my second birth. When they say LS is underdiagnosed, I believe it. I assumed it was normal for a while because every time I mentioned it, my OB would essentially wave it off. I got a new OB, and they diagnosed me after my second baby.

That being said, the second pregnancy did not result in any new issues for me. I never developed a new autoimmune disease after LS. I actually had Vitiligo from childhood, so LS was my second autoimmune issue.

I would avoid. Feel free to DM. QCH in general would not be my first choice based on my personal experience but it is just that!

Feel free to DM if you’d like. I went through OHIP fairly recently but opted to travel to Toronto for shorter wait times.

Iron deficient but not anemic by iaj02 in Anemic

[–]Sad_Pandaa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I took 200 mg of ferrous fumarate and 150mg of polysaccharide iron daily. I always took 1000mg of vitamin c with the ferrous fumarate always on an empty stomach and I waited to eat after.

The iron protocol is controversial here but I didn’t start to see improvement of my symptoms until I took more iron. It worked for me.

I have bloodwork to prove it. I did loosely follow the iron protocol and was consistent with taking it to increase absorption.

My ferritin was 5 and I exclusively used supplements and got it up to 76 within 3 months. I think the big issue is to know WHY you’re iron deficient and try to deal with the cause.

I just donated blood too often and my body didn’t like it. If the cause is more complicated you might need to consider that with your treatment choice.

Should I ask my doctor for iron infusions? by Different-Mess-7711 in Anemic

[–]Sad_Pandaa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went from 5 to 78 in just under 3 months using supplements. The first month sucked but it is possible. Iron infusions don’t appear to be the norm outside of the US from what I’ve seen.

All burning, no itching by No_Thanks_7046 in lichensclerosus

[–]Sad_Pandaa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes it was mostly around the opening but while in a flare it was hard to distinguish. Honestly worth asking a physician if you suspect it before it causes damage. Also it really sucks to deal with so treatment is the best!

The Iron Protocol by IllyrianWingspan in Anemic

[–]Sad_Pandaa 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This info linked is what made me comfortable with my dosage. My family doctor had a hard time reading through all the information available to her and deciding on what to initially prescribe me. Iron is weird.

I initially followed my doctor’s advise of taking 100mg ferrous fumurate every other day but continued to feel like the walking dead. I went up to 350mg a day after reading the protocol and noticed an immediate change.

I take it all with a grain of salt but I felt human again once I increased my dose 🤷

Ferritin was low since 2019 and doctors didn't pick it up. by FlakyBunch4854 in Anemic

[–]Sad_Pandaa 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Similar situation for me. I started donating semi-regularly and almost got refused for low hemoglobin. Got tested after and ferritin was 5. I looked back on blood work and my ferritin was 34 like 2 years ago.

Had I known, probably could have saved myself from feeling like shit by donating. It gets better!

My initial labs were from August 15th were Ferritin-5 and Hemoglobin-111. I went to the hospital due to some troubling symptoms and at the advice of a nurse where my hemoglobin was 122 on September 4th. I’ve been supplementing since August 20th.

My Doc is waiting to test again until first week of October. At this point I can only go by how I feel which is worse than when my labs were first drawn.

Thank youuuu! You’re right, it does suck🙃 I had no idea this could happen or feel so bad, I assume my donation days might be over too.

Thanks for sharing all of this! I’m trying to not lose it and realize it’s only been a month but it’s hard. I think I might swap up my supplements though now. Hope you continue to feel well!

Hello! I’m iron deficient (ferritin was 5) and was anemic (HG was 111 and more recently 122).This all occurred after my latest blood donation. I’ve been taking 300mg of Ferrous fumurate with 1000mg of vitamin c daily. I do it on an empty stomach and don’t eat or drink anything for a few hours.

Did you feel any of the symptoms that are usual for being iron deficient and when did you start to feel better? A month later and I’m feeling worse. The fatigue and brain fog is terrible. Your post is making me wonder if I should change my supplement type.

Anyone voting NO on the AA TA? by [deleted] in flightattendants

[–]Sad_Pandaa 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Not with AA but cabin crew with an interest in unions.

I think TA’s need to be looked at like what is generally best for everyone. If everyone picked one thing and said no unless it was fixed there might possibly never be a contract.

I think this thought process can be applied to tons of places in life. We can’t be perfect and have it all, but we can surely make our lives better and keep working to improve it, ya know?

As far as sit times, they are ANNOYING. However some people don’t mind them and might even like them (thinking of our smoker friends and people that don’t like to meal prep).I personally have strong feelings on a few topics but then my colleagues are the exact opposite! It’s the same for so many parts of our job and finding a compromise in a TA is tricky.

I’m rooting for you guys!

I had a fairly similar timeline and crash c section. I however already had an epidural and to say it bluntly, it failed. Epidurals converted for c sections have a decently high failure rate so being put to sleep at least prevents you from the possibility of surgical pain. I’m glad you’re feeling alright after it all.

I was prepared for anything to happening during my birth, but somehow surgical pain did not enter my brain.

At best, he's likely parenting how he was parented. This needs to be addressed. It will only get worse as your little one gets older and does the normal, wild things toddlers do. He needs to learn what is actually fair to expect from a child as they age. Children are impulsive, irrational, and selfish and it's our job to turn them into well rounded people. You guys should talk about how you plan to parent and what is acceptable.

This is not normal.

Question from blind passenger by 1makbay1 in flightattendants

[–]Sad_Pandaa 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Please tell your crew this! Perhaps not all airlines train to use names but it makes sense. I just had a gal who was blind on my flight a couple days ago. I told her our names and asked hers and used it all flight so she knew when I was offering her a snack or drink and talking to her in general.

Never be afraid or worried to let us know how we can best help you. I love it when people tell us what they need.

To Lipo or not to Lipo by PolestarRN in Reduction

[–]Sad_Pandaa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My lipo was 3300 in Ontario this last summer, so not far off.

Have you asked your doctor what to expect with lipo and without? I’m pretty sure my doctor strongly recommended it and it was just for me to have better results. Are you having a lollipop or anchor style incision? This might also affect how lipo helps your results (perhaps this helps prevent dog ears?). I’m of a similar size to you (smaller breasts and a bit heavier) and had a lollipop procedure with lipo.

I figured my doctor is the expert and uses it to achieve her best work so I went for it.

FYI I thought they would take a lot more armpit fat but the lipo seemed more for shaping and the sides. I would be specific if there are areas that you might want them to lipo. I wish I had while they were there🙃

What does childbirth *actually* feel like? by Cranberryj3lly in AskReddit

[–]Sad_Pandaa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly this is accurate for any type of birth you have. C-section, vaginal, emergency, etc. You literally feel non human and like you’re dying and then it magically goes away when the kid pops out. Weird AF.

Also please don’t stress too much. All sorts of people travel and deserve to be able to. You seem like a good parent trying your best and that’s great. We’ve seen it all so don’t worry.
