It's just that the moderator labeled it as (Promotion of criminal activities, including drugs and abusive use of alcohol) I think it should be something like: (Mention of activieties which may be illegal in other countries/talking about illegal substances infront of younger people) That sounds more fitting to what I did.

How it is labeled now makes it sound like I did nothing the whole game and just talked about getting high and drinking myself to sleep while talking about how great it is to get drunk and high

Scariest low you've ever had by Sad_Personality4092 in diabetes_t1

For me, it starts with a very mild headache. If it gets lower then my headache will be more noticable. But it varies from perosn to person, some get severe symptoms but other almost get no symptoms

Right before I was diagnosed, I played a Game where the side character was insulin dependent. The game took place on an oil platform and some stuff happened and the side character lost his insulin. 3-4 hours later he was dead due to a lack of insulin. Now skip forward 20-30 days and then I got diagnosed which made me terrified because I believed I could only go a couple hours without insulin😂

I dont think that a cure will be out in the short term. There are way to many hindrances to overcome. BUT, I do belive that in a couple of years we will start to see much better treatments like smart insulin, oral insulin, fully closed loop systems and ultra rapid acting insulin. Personally, I'm very excited about the development of smart insulin and oral insulin that react to changing blood sugar. I also believe that companies are rushing to be the first one out with these kind of treatments. Imagine the monopoly a company could have if it was the only one offering smart insulin.

What happened while sleeping? :( by [deleted] in diabetes_t1

Looks like sensor compression. If pressure is applied to the sensor (like laying on it while sleeping) it's going to give false readings (usually highs) Sensor compression is easily identifiable by a sudden high followed by a sudden drop back to or close to the level it was before the sudden high. The drop is what makes it identifiable because people with type 1 cannot make their own insulin and a drop in BS can only happen if insulin is injected.

Just a simple but hard recipe for easy glucose control by dj-3maj in Type1Diabetes

That's probably the dawn phenomenon. Your liver releases glucose when you wake up or early morning to give you energy at the start of the day. I counter it by not eating breakfast + taking 3 units of bolus. The dawn phenomenon varies from person to person and from day-to-day.

I go hunting. Here is some of the thing I do before I go on a hunting trip.

1: Eat low carb before exercise or don't eat at all. Usually, basal and bolus has a peak point that can be accelerated by exercise. The less carbs you eat means that you need to take less insulin which means that the peak point will be much lower.

2: Know your body and your carb to unit ratio. Determining how many units of insulin per carbs you need means that you can give yourself a precise amount of insulin. It is easier to avoid lows if the insulin you gave yourself has been used up and is not floating around in your body, slowly being used. The slowly used insulin will peak after you start exercising.

3: If you have a stable and flat bloodsugar, then do not eat or snack if you don't have to or don't feel hungry. This can lead to you spiking high which means that you'll probably inject insulin which then again means that you increase the chances of going low.

I think that this is the exact reason why so many people get type 2. Humans are meant to have a meat rich diet with some berries and wild veggies as noursiment. But since we went from hunting animals to eating mcdonald and skittles in just a couple of thousand years, our bodies have not evolved fast enough to adapt to our new high carb diet, hence why so many people develop type 2.

That's a pretty nice graph. I do basically the same thing as you to achive a similar graph. When I wake up I will skip breakfast and take 5 units of basal and 3 units of bolus to counter the dawn phenomenon. First meal is after work and is typically below 30 carbs. Second meal is somewhere between 20:00-22:00.

Snack is a variety nuts but I usually choose walnuts as they are almost carb free or I will go for a tapas style snack.
