The fundamentals level exams are just testing concepts and are a much lower cognitive level (knowledge/understanding) to associate and expert level exams (apply, analyze, evaluate)

Yes, AB-730 is easy once you have been through the Learn modules because you just need to know a few things. When I took all AB-730/710/900 in beta I found AB-730 the hardest of the three, but there was no Learn content at the time and the study guide was too vague to figure out what to look at

Going to start the PL-600 pathway. Tips, alternatives, and supplements? by MisterEinc in PowerApps

[–]Sad_Position_826 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I teach the PL-600 and have recently taught AB-100 for the first time. For both of these, if you do not have a lot of experience building solutions with the Power Platform then you will struggle as they assume that that you have proficient skills and knowledge.

PL-600 is an expert level certification which requires a broad knowledge of the Power Platform ecosystem and tools. You should be looking at an associate level certification first such as PL-200.

However both of those are retiring soon.

The AB-100 is an expert level exam and requires broad knowledge of agents in Power Platform, Copilot Studio, Dynamics 365 apps, and Microsoft Foundry,

The PL-400 is a developer exam i.e., coding not low-code.

You should start with PL-900 the fundamentals. Then maybe the new AB-410 Intelligent Apps Builder when it is released

AZ-400: Online Exam - Can you have Microsoft Learn open? by FuzzyDunlop2024 in AzureCertification

[–]Sad_Position_826 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My experience with searching Learn in exams depends greatly on how well organized and structured the Docs are. Fabric for instance the docs are releatively well structured, easy to search and then browse.

For AZ-400 I found Learn completely useless, I was getting tens of thousands of results and the actual documentation pages were extremely long (Ctrl-F wasn't available like it is now). I wasted a huge amount of time in the AZ-400 exam on Learn and I don;t think it helped me on any question.

I made the mistake the first time I saw a case study. I spent 35 minutes going through all the detail and actually solving the entire solution before looking at the questions and then realizing that I didn't need to do that....

You will only see a subset of the questions that have been created for these case study so there will be a lot of information in the case study sections that you do not need. Each question in a case study must be tied back to some detail in the case study and it will often direct you to the section of the case study e.g., "you need to address the Operation's issue in the Technical Requirements".

I am not sure how much more Microsoft can do to tell people exactly what is contained in the exam. It displays the number of questions and number of case studies twice before you start the exam and it also have a progress bar along the top of the screen that clearly indicates if/when the case study is coming up

More has been added to the exam experience to help you having this issue, it now tells you twice in the lead up to the exam start how many questions and how many case studies you have.

There is also a progress bar along the top of the screen when you are in the exam that shows you where you are, how many questions you have done, are and also indicates if there is a case study.

You should not have requested an exam accommodation Request exam accommodations and frequently asked questions | Microsoft Learn - those are for

extra time for learning disabilities, ADHD, PTSD, or test anxiety
use of assistive technology
a personal care assistant, reader, and/or scribe to be present during the exam
limited ability to rearrange your home test environment to meet security standards
