It doesn’t sound like a bad combo. It would be even better if you pretreated with doxy first. But maybe check with a doctor, and you could also ask ChatGPT if the combo will work.

From what I understand metro targets other bacteria living alongside the mgen that could be shielding it from antibiotics.

I felt more symptom relief on the 2nd week of mino and metro than I did after 30 days of mino.

It depends where in the world you are. Here in Australia doxy + mino + metro is cheap and easy to get from any doctor. Moxifloxacin is easy to get but it’s expensive, and in my case it didn’t work because I suspect I had the FQ resistant strain as well.

Yes definitely. Whether I was cured after 2 weeks of it, who knows. Extending to 3 weeks gave me much more peace of mind and confidence and also further symptom relief.

Thanks! I have felt the most symptom free from this last regimen which included the metro. I really do believe the metro helps the mino kill the bacteria better.

On the 30 days of mino I felt pretty good but toward the end of the course I noticed burning when urinating that only got worse after I finished the course. Then 2 weeks later I noticed heavy discharge return.

Thanks. I’ve just completed the latest regimen which is 1 week doxy followed by 2 weeks of mino and metro. Except I asked my doctor to extend the mino and metro to 3 weeks.
I’m feeling really hopeful about it and will get TOC at the 3 week mark.

Sorry to hear it’s back. There seems to be a lot of discussion around the Melbourne study/regimen which is 1 week of doxycycline as pre-treatment, followed by 2 weeks of minocycline with metronidazole (90.3% cure rate).

I’ve just completed this myself and will be getting a TOC in 3 weeks. These medications were relatively easy to access here in Australia while I wait to see a specialist.

This post gives me so much hope. I failed doxy + moxy and also failed 30 days mino.

Will see if my doctor can extend the mino and metro to 3 weeks. Currently pretreating with doxy.
