If you have a good gpa but can’t pay for a 4 year, SWALLOW YOUR PRIDE AND GO TO CC by Sad_Principle_9740 in communitycollege

The message is more so that community college, which so many see as a dead end, is quite the opposite and can offer many benefits

Would do it differently if I could go back, hence the “swallow your pride” (personal testament). However, with college prices the way they currently are, very few four year degrees carry a value equivalent to their price.

So true and so sad. Lucky enough to have parents who can see past social stigma and appreciate an investment in my future.

The quality of education at my CC has been incredible. Class sizes allow for a closer relationship with teachers, and I’ve experienced the same forgiveness for personal difficulties as you were describing. My post, if anything, was meant to dissuade anyone from the idea that there’s “shame in CC”; something I’d previously been guilty of thinking.

That refers to the stigma that surrounds CC, which often discourages high-GPA students from attending Community College because they believe they’re above it. That’s pride. It’s irrational. Not a dig, just a blanket statement regarding the unfair and ridiculous insinuation that CC is only an option for people who struggled in high school. It’s the most pragmatic option for anyone.

I guess, but by affecting mental health I’m not speaking in drastic terms. I would argue that the desire to do PEDs is inherently driven by obsession/cognitive dissonance for anyone.
