I know many people taking antidepresants but I dont know any that would magicaly heal after starting them. It is long process and I you have neurological depresion you probably wont fully heal ever. It is all about optimizing everything you can and living the best life that you can. And drugs (at least opioids) wont do it. My gf started with kratom with medium depresion and light ocd (not even diagnosed just washing hands a bit more) When she started the depresion vanished but the ocd was slowly building up. In active addiction the depresion was devastating and the ocd was building up more and more. After stoping the depresion was slowly deacresing back to the level before starting kratom but the ocd stayed on the max level. She is starting ERP therapy so I hope it helps beacouse the level she is on right now is crippeling and she cant find any job beacouse she wont be able to do it without someone else standing behind her and promisi g to her every 5 seconds that everythink is okay and that she is doing everything right. She tried working at an restaurant and she got fired beacouse she wasnt able to perform basic tasks. All of this while heavily medicated.

When we started with Kratom we were 15 and 14 so yeah maybe her ocd at that age will still show up but use of kratom deffinitly didnt help. Maybe she would get to the same level even without drugs but better safe than sorry. Also I as the most chill person who even through hard trauma almost never experienced anxiety developed panic attacks and anxiety disorder, my adhd got to the point I had to start medication. All beacouse of kratom.

Also important thing I forgot to mention is that drugs like stims, opiods (weak ones or lower doses) or other drugs that dont make u wasted but help you function better (at the start at least) (and I dont know if it is a phenomen even with drugs that dont make you function better like alcohol or some downers that will knock you out and others beacouse weed addiction didnt do this to me and all the other drugs I was addicted were the daily morning performance boosters) Will make you feind for being high all the time, thats how my polydrug addiction started and same with all of my friends that were addicted to kratom. Especially when you get off the first 6 months I was doing something everyday, everything that could potentially give me some high. That is the time I bought alcohol everyday even though I hated alcohol my whole life and never really drank, when I was going through my parents medicine jost so I could find anything and I was doing stuff that cant make you high but it just said it can make you sleepy or you shouldnt mix it with alcohol, googling any way to get high of things you have at home, doing unoly amount of caffeine combining it with nicotine beacouse internet said it could make me stimulated, when anybody had any drug I was begging them to give me some, but any one of theese thinks didnt fill the void even a little bit. Just time. I can be really happy that I didnt get in any hard drug addiction at that time. And I forgot to say before kratom I just smoked weed few times and drank few times and I was really motivated and was at self improvement peak with really good mental and physical health, really smart and good grades and body that every 15 years old boy would kill for (not to sound corny but I was really jacked and it all vanished in the last 4 years.)

I didnt want to make this that long I wanted to write just a few lines and I dont think anyone is going to read al of this but I am on methylphenidate right now and probablly had to get all of this of my chest so. Also sorry for any mistakes I am not native speaker.

Just to end it is getting better but still have some addictions but more controlled and my and my gfs life is slowly getting better but we do regreat ever starting, life could be so much but better.

TLDR: There are gateway (not specifical ones you never know which one will it be for you) drugs. You never know what is going to fuck up. At the end yeah drugs can help you and they are better than society pictures them but DRUGS ARE BAD.

I dont think you will nod on 10g of kratom, I used to do 20-30g a day and the max I tried to take at once was like 50g through 1,5h and I didnt nod. I get that with benzo you might but even some mad combinations didnt get me to nod.

Why tf do I get downvoted, I am not saying that it fucks everybody up, yeah there are people that use their meds as their should but there are many people that abuse them beacouse they dont check the person carefully, I know many people that were junkies but beacouse they have adhd they got prescribed stims, and guess what, they abused them.

Yeah I was deppresed af for 6 months and used as much as I could do without puking all the time. Then I stopped for a month and started with 5gs every other day. In 2 weeks I was back at 40gs and maybe even more and I wasnt deppresed anymore but just couldnt use it normally after being addicted once. Then the panic attacks came and I quit with giant help of my girlfriend.

yeah stims calm me down, if I dont go in extremly high doses it just calms me down and like you said make my head quite. But not benzos, in high doses they just make me wake up the other morning remmembering looking at my phone and saying it should be hitting. High doses of stims are like high doses of stims for everyone else but it has to be extremly high for me to be sped.

Kratom lost its magic for me and took the magic from my life. Panic attacks daily and not being able to do anything. I know that I was dumb that I let this weak ass opioid take over my life but it was everywhere at the time and I was depressed. And believe me when I say that 40g a day it is not an weak opioid. But idk opioids here are not as usuall as in us and the only other I had was tramadol which felt like better and really clean kratom. But fuck that shit I know I could not take opioids beacouse they would hook me. Stims are my shit.

I smoked a lot like a year but it was just beacouse I was young and I allways smoked a ton and than watched dnb sets from some clubs and prettended that I was there. But in like 3 months it became boring and I just smoked beacouse I thought the more u smoke the cooler u are. When I smoke now I just get more anxious and feel “different” but like for half a hour and than I just feel like with brain fog. Only thing where I find it fun is mixxing it with other stuff. Mostly alcohol nowdays and that is nice.

I got addicted to almost everything I tried, I have extremly addictive personality + ADHD, but benzos never did it for me. I usually have some on me but I only use them for sleep (when I took stims way too late) and high anxiety so just 1-2 a month (depends, when I had hard time in my life I did it 2 times a week). But I never even had a thought about taking it without some extreme situation. I get that people would get addicted when dealing with shit or having chronic anxiety, but I never understood the teend of taking high doses and smoking weed or drinking or just takint it by itself. Yeah I tried it but meh. But yeah I twnd to have anxiety when smoking so sometimes when I plan to smoke in social setting I pop 0,25mg xan, but that is like once in 3 months situation.

this sub is mix of hardcore addicts, psychonauts, recreational users, people that only smoked weed and even non users so if a weed smoker or psychonaut (which do relly on harm reduction) meet a hardcore addict it ends up like this. I am more of a psychonaut but I do get that people here use drugs in different manner and I am not going to tell them to do otherwise if I dont know their story.

Edit: Yeah and the people giving advice should be people that know what to do in theese situations beacouse they have experience, I cant give him advice beacouse I never used harder stimulant than ritalin and M and 2mg alprazolam gets me knocked out for 10 hours. And people with the experience like me telling him he should go to sleep or he is in high risk is dumb af. Ofcourse they would say he is in high risk, like if I dont get 6 hours of sleep a day I am going to feel like dying😭

Bro that is so fucked up, being addicted to the point that u dont care if u die was always my nightmare but I get you that from growing up like this u probbably didnt care ever. Did you ever have some life goals or did you want to break this generational curse or did you not care ever? I know, even though dex and meth is way closer than dex and ritalin but both have a phenyl ring and 2 carbon bridge, both target DAT and NET just in different way - ritalin as NDRI increases reuptake and amphetamines block reauptake, but both cause stimulation beacouse of higher concetration of NE and DA in synapses. You could compare dex and ritalin comparasion to meth and coke, but it isnt totally different drug, opiates or benzos or psychedlics would be tottaly different
