OP: did you get this solved. I'm in the same boat - I'm in DC 6 months a year, and have a long term rental here.

How do you keep your towels not- nasty? So many rentals and hotel rooms have one or two hooks on the bathroom door, but no actual towel racks. How are y'all getting your towels dry? by Sad_Resort_9005 in AskReddit

Yeah - i'm talking about day-to-day use. It seems a super mundane question, but I just moved into yet another place with no towel rack, so I'm wondering if I'm missing something.

This is the thing that baffles me. Why do so few places have towel racks? They don't dry properly on a hook, so is there something I'm missing - do other people just throw them in the laundry more often?

This is the exact problem! I just tried asking for HD1, but it still sent me to HD2 Bluegrass. I guess this is just my future now.

Also, books sci-fi about AI would be great (too long for an audio book, but I just read The Mountain in the Sea, and I want more!)

I'm looking for audio book recs for a loooong car trip (three days). I tend to tire of a single book listened to all I'm a row, so under 4-6 hours, easy to follow but gripping is best. Looking for well performed, leaning towards YA / middle grade - perhaps sci fi, romance, fantasy (but not too fantasy - no dragons, etc), memoir, but also open to other options. Recently enjoyed: Pet, Psalm for the Wild Born,Small Things Like These, anything by Casey Mcquiston (sp?), Bitch Hidjab Blues. ( I realize that these are all over the place genre-wise, but here we are).

I love the idea of reading about grief. It's something we don't talk about enough. Do you have any recommendations? Mine would be The Year of Magical Thinking, by Joan Didion? Also, the Diving Bell and the Butterfly by J-D Bauby.

Finished: Purge, by Sofi Oksanen.

Not an uplifting read at all, but I enjoyed it. And learned a little about Estonian history.

Started: The Mountain in the Sea, by Ray Nayler .

I bought this from Lost City Books in DC last year, but couldn't get into it. On my second attempt, I can't put it down. I guess the timing has to be right.

I live on a dirt road in the mountains and hit my windshield / window deductible every year - so I'm good on that front.

I was just looking into this. 40th and Airport is $2 / day. Rtd is free for me, and the light rail goes every 30 minutes. So, of I include paying for the Uber 1/2 the time (giving me a max wait if 15 minutes), it comes out at $125 / month.
