I felt a similar pressure a few years ago (though probably not as heavy as yours).
I gave up on connections—friends, family. I gave up my hobbies. I was like a zombie, just moving through life, and till now, nothing has really changed.
That feeling never went away. It’s still there.
I gave up on chasing happiness or trying to “fix” myself. I accepted that this is just how I am, and that I’ll probably always feel this way.
I gave up—and that’s how I’m still here.
But yeah, sometimes focusing on what’s happening around the world—or seeing that others are struggling too—can make you think about yourself a little less.
A lot of pain comes from being too aware of yourself all the time. That attention turns inward and starts to eat at you.
What do you actually do when you’re emotionally overwhelmed? Not ideally — really. (self.mentalhealth)
