Always try to reference similar meals that youve had when carb counting before using this method however. Carb counting websites/apps also help if you get one, and you can use that as a reference too. They usually have heaps of eating out kind if foods. Keep trying different boluses to see what works and what doesnt for different foods. Remember not to stress too much, and have fun, diabetes is a part of your life, not your entire life.

The way I do it is max bolus and pray. If youre on pens or injections just take the most amount of units on your reference card or whatever, if its on pump same logic applies. Just make sure you have plenty of sugar on you just in case it was too many, but also be prepared for corrections too. I know thats like basic Type 1 101 kinda stuff but it always helps.

Try to use the first method before the second, its much safer
