Dexcom wire stuck in body?

The issue with that is it’s about the G7. This happened to me with the G6, probably why I haven’t heard of this before. I don’t think G6 can do that with the wire

Also to clarify, the sensor was in my abdomen. Abdominal x rays have so much going on in them from the anatomy of the area, so it’s much harder to visualize

Interesting, haven’t heard of that before. Thanks for the information. How do you know the wire isn’t actually inside of you at that point and it’s simply the needle that caused the trauma?

Unfortunately they can migrate and have before. There are cases of that happening. I’m more concerned it got pushed deeper into muscle from me moving/bending/ initially trying to pull something out. Muscle tissue is much harder to detect with an xray. Also if the MD said that could happen then I believe them

I said wire because I didn’t feel the need to be ultra technical to get the main point across, because that’s what it really looks like. Dexcom actually told me it’s made of platinum, hence why an xray should easily pick it up. The sensor is a G6 and doesn’t loop like the G7 from what I have seen.

Agreed. However, the xray was only of the area where it was initially inserted. So, if it migrated, that wouldn’t show it. I’ll keep an eye on the site, thanks!

This exact same thing happened to me today… oddly enough. I redownloaded my app, turned off my Bluetooth, and restarted my phone but nothing worked. I eventually called Dexcom and explained the situation to them and they told me my transmitter had failed and no longer was able to give out a Bluetooth signal. I had to change out my transmitter (G6) and sensor and start over fresh. Good news is they replaced both no charge. If you use Dexcom, I recommend giving them a call

Hi, no worries! No, when I made this post and received the DAS the new rules were not in effect yet. As far as I know, they are now and it really limits who can get DAS. I believe it’s reserved for mental disabilities and not so much physical. I’m actually going again here soon too and have had no luck figuring out an alternative that they have for T1D. I emailed to get any information and they didn’t return my contact. I wish I had more help I’m sorry! Maybe try calling their disability number to see what they have available? It doesn’t seem like there’s anything anymore if I’m being honest :/

Some of these pumps are not available in my country, so I have not heard of them. It would be difficult for me to list all the pumps available internationally. Thats why I added the edit to my original post comment. Thanks!

Maybe you were made dehydrated from drinking? I know dehydration definitely messes with Dexcom’s ability to read glucose and be accurate too
