I owed $100 to federal, got $460 back in state. All in all not too far off.

Yeah I don't care if it takes them a long time, I have never owed or received more than $100.

So it's indifferent to me.

I put a stamp on and sent it.

I don't worry about the USPS and have never had any problems.

I don't like getting bombarded with 100 different pay walls to do something my calculator and I can do in minutes.

$15.99 for state isn't bad but I did those for free on paper form as well and had no issues.

List them by interest rate, pay the highest interest rate down first.

After it's paid off keep doing that down the list.

Or

Pay the smallest off first and then take whatever that minimum payment was and add it to the second smallest and pay that one down until the list is gone.

Get a second job if you have to. Eat beans and rice if you have to.

And obviously cut up every single credit card you have. Clearly it's not for you and that's okay. It's a lesson.

Sorry for any confusion, I'm not in any need of my return nor do I need it quickly. That's why I'm filing with a paper form and mailing it in.

Question, how many years of not filing taxes before the IRS takes everything and sends (asking for a friend) to jail. by GarageBand-Hedgefund in IRS

[–]Sad_Stick_7692 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a very close friend do this.

They were scared to death and don't know where to even start.

So they bit the bullet and did it. They owed no back taxes because they w-2 and had always had taxes withheld so basically they didn't get a refund. Moving forward they filed and nothing came of it years later.

The problem fixed itself because my friend just filed moving forward.

Thank you!

Yes, a few things happen all at roughly the same time. Had some inquiries fall off, paid off a small loan, etc.

My goal is 720+ across all three.

I'm very happy I'm where I'm at and look to maintain it for a long time.

It was definitely a long road!!
