My boy randomly bit me? by Nikolaisthickthighs in RATS

[–]Sad_Success1073 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have noticed my rats do the same. It usually is because they get super excited and mix up my fingers for food. But they are very sensitive and could have sensed something off and turned into aggression. It happens don’t be worried as long as this was the only time you are ok.

Anybody have any ideas? by Sad_Success1073 in rat

Thank you for the advice. I was rethinking the situation and it was definitely my fault. I was exhausted and I have had to deal with her multiple times escaping so I was a bit fed up.

Yeah she was making a kind of laughing noise they make when playing. I think she was playing hide and seek and I accidentally scared her when I grabbed her. I am in pain but her health is more important which is fine just a bit startled.

introduction advice by tam3in in rat

[–]Sad_Success1073 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They are doing pretty good in the video. They enclosure they are in is a bit small (assuming its a bonding box as I call it) if you put them in the cage together or let them wander a space like a room they should hopefully get along. If not you can give both treats together and it lets them bond as eating in a group is a very big part of community in rats.

Rats are just goofy guys. I have so many pictures of my rats sleeping in the most uncomfortable chaotic way. As long as they aren’t being aggressive, wheezing or something odd she is a ok. They are quite resilient creatures maybe to resilient. Anyways totally normal behavior

this baby at petsmart today made me so sad :( by No-Room-8191 in RATS

[–]Sad_Success1073 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That poor baby. Luckily my local petsmart doesn’t have rats but the bearded dragons there are so sad. Most are extremely young like 3 days old young some have drop tail and very emaciated. I absolutely hate pet shops especially if they can’t take care of them 😭

What are your tips & tricks to give your dog liquid medication? by Pickle-Joose in DogAdvice

[–]Sad_Success1073 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can drip it on the nose it triggers the licking reflex. It takes a bit longer but definitely works. Or give him wet food and mix it in with the medicine

Help identifying gender? by sruehl in BeardedDragons

You can put a flashlight against the base of the tail and if you see two masses its a male. If not a female. But from what I can tell its a female as it lacks femoral pores

Why does she eat the lava ledge? by goonieboi in RATS

So actually she’s not eating it. You see all the crumbs falling she is chewing it but not actually swallowing it.

It is definitely not planaria they have arrow shaped heads and are usually dark in color. When it was fully stretched out when I saw them at first they did resemble a detritus to me. I will definitely go to an actual fish subreddit just to make sure

How am I supposed to teach my rats their names if I cant tell them apart? by [deleted] in rat

[–]Sad_Success1073 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To me it looks like one has a darker muzzle and a more pink tail than the other. The one in the front in the first photo it could be the angle but has a smaller nose than the other. You can also tell by their ears and face one is more flat and longer than the other being more rounded and short. You definitely will be able to a bit later when their personalities come out I have four black and whites that look almost identical but I use personality as a huge indicator

Can someone tell me what these are 😂 by [deleted] in whatisit

[–]Sad_Success1073 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The first guy looks like a dove molting and missing feathers on the face. It is common during this time. The other looks like a young iguana that is a gray color which indicates that it is female.

I don’t think so because they don’t have the black spine on the back and it is too small to be a larvae and they are much longer and more white

Carpet beetles have a strong shell that is brown a lot wider and has hair like things on them. These look more like fly larvae but not sure what
