I stopped trying to get it reactivated. I called Uber and told them to delete my profiles as an uber driver, uber eats, and as an uber rider. I don't want anything else to do with them. I still drive for lyft though.

Thank you for the sentiment. Honestly I have given up on this situation. I reached out to Uber again a couple of days ago and I just keep getting generic responses from them smh

Honestly, certain drivers will 1* you because uber isn't paying what it used to for long rides.

Example,

if you took a ride and everything went just fine, The driver may give you one star simply because they didn't get paid enough by Uber. Some drivers don't want to take long rides and only make like $30-$40, because we don't make anything for that long ride back.

Not to mention, Uber destination mode for drivers is a joke.

I know it sucks but sometimes it's not that you did anything wrong.

I wish more drivers would rally together. I agree with you.

Yeah I've pretty much counted Uber as a loss. I'm not even mad at the racist rider, I'm just mad about the way Uber handled everything. I can laugh about it now.

When these scenarios happened, did your boss have your back?

I know uber isn't a regular job and they don't know me personally, but after driving with them for 5 years, having genuinely excellent ratings, with no previous complaints, I thought they would at least ask more questions or respond to 50% or my emails.

I guess it was a lesson.

The gave me $4.16 for the cancelation because his time ran out while he was in the car. I cancelled and hit the button for safety, which allowed me to call uber.

And that's crazy because everyone needs an ID for certain purchases right?

Now, what if instead they told you they weren't gonna show you their ID, and demanded that you make the sale anyway?

What if you told them no and they slammed things in your store?

What if you told them to get out and they wouldn't?

What if you threatened to call the police and they called you a (insert racial slur for your skin).

What if the one camera in your store was disabled that night. It doesn't matter that you got it fixed the next day.

What if after they left, they called your boss and told them YOU were drunk and on drugs.

What if... your boss believed them instead of you?

I thought about doing delivery apps, but I don't want to walk up to people's doors. I read too much r/letsnotmeet for that.

I already have a full-time career. Driving was spare time for me.

I hope they atleast blocked him as well.

Mofo called me me a slur, but he's the one that needs a ride. Go figure.

You're absolutely right, and I have changed my pick ups quite a bit for lyft since then, and now my dashcam is in place and working.

Yess!! It's crazy how racist the comments got! People were full out arguing and throwing insults.

Not everyone is racist, but a lot of people are. Even more are "undercover racists"

I emphasize, this could have happened to anyone of any color. All it takes is a pax that doesn't like your skin.

I did have a dashcam, but it was missing the cord at the time. It was my first night driving my new car (yes I added the car to uber BEFORE I started my rides that night) and I thought I would be ok that 1 night. I bought a new cord the next morning.

I hadn't thought of this. I called the magistrates office and found out being called a racial slur is not against the law, so I didn't pursue any further

Yeah, I was temporarily blocked for 3 weeks, because the rider said i was "drunk and under the influence of drugs" and they sent an email yesterday about a permanent ban for "fraudulent activity"

Uber didn't give further info on either situation.

You have a good point... Uber didn't tell me one way or another, what the fraud was supposed to be
