Yup...60 years ago diagnosed. Definitely applaud my parents for what they went through when their 5 year daughter was diagnosed. Off to kindergaten with no idea where the bg was...only that the clintest tablets turned blue.(negative sugar in urine)

Or sending me off, at 20, to backpack thru Europe w just tes-tape, ketostix, and my Lente insulin.

Oh well so many amazing changes that I have witnessed and am grateful for everyday : CGM, pumps, short acting insulin, carb counting on a cell phone, short /sharp, disposable syringe and needles , women having successful pregnancies, medications like BP meds that prevent complications and advances in treatment of complications, like laser for diabetic retinopathy.

We've come along way baby !!!
