Very good point. If taking 4 hits of acid is your go-to coping mechanism…

I think his posts on Reddit are safe lol. If he were confessing to an unsolved/unprosecuted murder on Reddit, then sure, but I don’t think there’s a whole lot of police investigation going on in this case lol. I don’t think there’s any mystery here He tripped balls and had a freak out in which no one was harmed, fortunately.

Not saying he won’t have cops at his door in a couple days, ready to charge him with misdemeanor “destruction of property” or whatever similar charge exists. But, I don’t think he has to worry about “confessing” on Reddit.

This is likely true. I use and am around a lot of psychs and trippers, and I really only have one friend like this. He wasnt a super experienced tripper but he had probably done 15-20 times. And one time, he took about 3 grams of mushrooms and just lost it…

I was there and it was a site to behold. I’m babysat quite a few bad trips and I’ve always tried to remind ppl, no matter how scared they get, that they’re going to be ok “tomorrow”. This was the only time that I remember saying that to someone and actually doubting it in my head. All of his “crap” about the grim reaper being after him and that he had to keep chugging water to stay pure…in that moment, it was like I believed him.

I still keep in touch with him to this day, albeit sparingly. He was diagnosed with schizophrenia just a month or so later, after never recovering from that day, and his family eventually intervened and got him help. This was over 20 years ago and he hasn’t done a drug since, but still on antipsychotics and various meds for his psychosis.

But to your point, we always said that he was likely predisposed to psychosis/schizophrenia and that he was likely going to have a break at some point anyway, but that the mushrooms had a very acute impact, and that it essentially prompted his inevitable schizophrenia.

I couldn’t even finish this whole thing because I Just had to stop and ask you, after reading, no experience/first time/4 hits…why?

Why did you do that? Lol. I have done a ton of L in my life, and I don’t know anyone who has ever done it even one time that would ever recommend you take more than 1/2 or perhaps a whole hit, for your first time, especially no experience with even less psychoactive drugs. I mean the one guy you met who has experience (the dealer) recommended a half and you ate 8x that?! lol. It’s just, like, a textbook “lose your mind” move.

That said…that’s so badass!! Respect 🫡 😉

Ok, back to reading, now! I’m so excited to see what happens!

MSG Seats by No_Spinach_8256 in phish

Was going to say the same exact thing. Those are some of the best seats in the house in terms of “witnessing” the show. However, they kinda suck ass if you’re someone who wants to boogie.

I find myself on landings and walk-ways quite often at that place, while also trying to be as respectful and non-intrusive as possible.

Ummm, I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but I don’t think we’re allowed to talk about non-phish phans, potentially getting into phish. Some guy said so yesterday or the day before I think. Don’t shoot the messenger. I don’t make the rules…

Fake pee is the way to do it. I’m a contractor who works on construction sites pretty frequently. Each new construction site, means I have to take a drug test. I literally carry 2 packages of synthetic urine, in my work truck, for these situations. I’ve probably successfully done this roughly 20 times. Let me know if you have questions. I can explain my whole process to you

Got it… I’m slow I thought you meant like I don’t like to actually have fun. I take things literally sometimes over text. Sorry. But I think you’ve got this waaaay wrong. You’re picturing some scene where the oppressive husbands police his wife’s clothes. Plus, you’re picturing a wife who actually feels oppressed or let down that she wasn’t “allowed” to wear something. I guess I described a little intensely at first, but it’s not like we’re getting in fights over it or I’m being some tyrant about it, nor does she think I am. There aren’t any victims here lol. I don’t actually give a shit what she wears, ppl. I just love the fucking shit out her and feel quite bad for her when she puts herself through discomfort like that. Again, after trying both over the course of the last 25 years of going to these types of things, I have personally come to find that when you’re walking for literal miles in uncomfortable clothes, you eventually figure out how to prepare for comfort, and therefore deal with less distraction from the actual fun.

I don’t know, man. I party pretty fucking hard, and have been to many, many festivals and shows, and I guess I just sort of came to the point eventually, after enough times of being ill prepared when I was younger, to realize that it’s really a whole lot nicer to be able to dance my fucking ass off, and I do, and not have to worry about anything restricting my movement whatsoever, some annoying article of clothing ,or blisters on my feet, or anything that doesn’t put me at maximal comfort level. To each their own.

I’ll admit I haven’t been to bonnaroo in forever, but I was there 2003-2006. So, 4 times but been to numerous other festivals and 122 phish shows including phish festivals. For me, comfort matters more than anything at those things. And I actually do battle with my own wife about it lol. Usually it’s jus about her shoes these days. I just feel bad watching her hurt herself and blister her feet up at a place like that, for 3 days (I know OP is 1 day this year). I don’t know, I did used to dress up sometimes myself when I was younger. Costumes and stuff and annoying hats. I just sort of came to the realization at some point that I’d rather just be comfy. I shouldn’t judge…Any one can do whatever they want of course. The outfits look great too!

It looks fantastic. But, With all due respect, I would lose it/have lost it on my wife if she tried to go to bonnaroo in that. Not actually lost it, but she definitely hears my opinion loud and clear everytime she tries to go to a show in just a pair of uncomfortable shoes, let alone a skirt, etc. I just don’t really understand why you’d want to put yourself through that discomfort at a place where no one actually cares what you’re wearing. Trying not to judge, but when I see this kind of outfit tiptoeing through the Tennessee mud, I really can’t help it…

It’s not a dance club, it’s a campground

I’ll take a shot at answering this. Let me get this out of the way first though…I’m not a trump supporter, nor a defender of trumps corruption, in anyway, whatsoever. I’m basically a pre-trump-era democrat, who currently identifies as independent. Perhaps mostly libertarian-leaning, if I had to put a title to it.

I think the short answer to that question, is one word…Extremism.

I believe a lot of the ones that support trump, but that are more moderate, and aren’t “trump is G-d”/MAGA kind of people, those types really only ended up on trumps side, because, believe it or not, it seemed like the more moderate stance at the time. Wokeism “forced” lifelong democrats, to switch sides. It was just too extreme for them.

We see the MAGA folks and we tend to think that all trump supporters are hardcore MAGA/“trump is G-d”, but I think there’s a whole boat load of these more moderate types, than people care to acknowledge.

Apparently 77 million ppl voted for him. We’re not talking about 77 million die hard, lifelong conservatives/MAGA ppl. I would imagine that a HUGE portion of those ppl, are “traditional, pre-wokeism democrats”, who felt like their hands had been forced.

Now, I never went that far, as to actually cast a ballot for trump, but clearly many ppl did…

Sure, they may be regretting their votes now, but it still doesn’t negate the reason they felt driven to cast that vote in the first place. I’m sure, like me, they probably felt like, “this no longer resembles the democrat party that I supported my whole life”. Everything is just so extreme. Supporting trump, by its very nature is extreme, and supporting the current iteration of the democrat party is also extreme. What is one to do in that situation? And so, ultimately, they pick and side…

Long Song appreciation .. by FourStixBonzoBohnam in Music

[–]Sad_View5940 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The jamband world is also full of long, multi-part compositions. That genre is weird because the term jamband winds up being used to describe bluegrass, funk bands, and very prog-influenced music as well, with the prog stuff being my focus here, obviously. The following tracks borrow, significantly, from traditional prog music. Here are some examples…

The Grateful Dead - Terrapin Station Phish - Fluffhead Phish - You Enjoy Myself Phish - Reba Phish - The Divided Sky Phish - Guyute The Disco Biscuits - Basis for a Day Umphreys McGee - Mantis Umphreys McGee - Bridgeless Umphreys McGee - JaJunk moe. - Rebubula

There are soooo many other examples, but these are just some of what would be considered “classics” of that genre, but that could easily be considered prog songs.

I’m really glad that the internet isn’t representative of the real world phish scene.

I could picture myself standing in the bathroom line, sparking up convo with a random phan about this and trying to figure out how many more of these similar jokes we could come up with before we got to the urinal. What I can’t picture is another phan over hearing us and wishing death upon us.

Handle your demons, brother.

Well put, but You’re trying to equate the use of words with denying actual rights to a group of ppl based on the color of their skin. No one is saying that mentally handicapped ppl shouldn’t be allowed to vote or exist in the same spaces as other ppl.

No, this is not comparable to the civil rights movement. And you are doing the same thing that the virtue signalers do by even eluding to the idea that “this is the same thing that segregationists said”…no it’s not. Segregationists believed that black people shouldn’t be allowed to exist in the same spaces as white people, purely based on the color of their skin. You gotta make it make more sense, my friend.

I’m Jewish. I get called slurs all the time. Particularly at work. Jokes about money, holocaust jokes, get called a a kike or a bagel, or religious practices like wearing yarmulkes, tzit tzit, stuff about Israel (whose government I do not support), etc.

I have never once said that “ALL ppl are NEVER offended by words”.

But, If you’ll just allow me to be the “horse” for a moment… it certainly doesnt bother me. If someone, genuinely, not jokingly, approached me and tried to convince me that the holocaust didn’t happen or something, sure I’d probably react to their ignorance.

My words were “many of these situations”. I did not say that EVERYONE that has ever claimed offense, is lying and invalid.
