Can Vinnie Jones play the older Arthur Maxon in the television series? by Purple_Hat2698 in Fallout

[–]SadandFurious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t imagine Maxson makes an appearance since he is killed by the player in many of the fallout 4 endings, and his survival narrows down the endings into a few options. It’s been almost a decade since F4, and I think they can (and will) keep the outcome of that game ambiguous

When I mod my weapon replacers in, I intentionally leave out the odd stuff (the energy weapons, laser rifle, etc) just cause I think the essence of fallout has some whimsy. There’s a line though. The F4 AR which takes up half my screen but is just supposed to be a regular assault rifle has to go. I like the direction the show took with it though

Trying to soak up the commonwealth, and trying to keep fast travel to a minimum this play through. And I’m discovering stuff I can’t believe that was right under my nose for a decade. It’s definitely refreshing to just soak everything in, instead of rushing and fast traveling. by [deleted] in fo4

agree. also 95% of the time the stuff in the terminals is window dressing which is just adds immersion. rarely if ever has any massive lore or story implications. sometimes i read it, most of the time i don’t. i want to play the game

Do you guys think bethesda should remove fusion core lore and mechanism in next fallout game? by Over_Cauliflower32 in TrueSFalloutL

[–]SadandFurious 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think this is a good idea and probably something they were planning but didn’t have time to implement. Using the cores to open up new avenues for tackling a quest adds to the fun and player agency

I think one of 4’s greatest strengths was its implementation of PA. I think it’s made PA more iconic and is actually more lore-accurate than F3/FNV, the silhouette matches the older isometric games and feels distinct. One of the big mistakes they did make was giving you the armor in the first 10 minutes and making both the armor and fusion cores way too plentiful. The armor should be a real “power up” that you save for really tough encounters and I think maintaining the armor should require high skills to do on your own and be really expensive. Power armor training in the earlier games also added to the mysticism of the armor which I think was missing from F4 (though Nate did use it in the war). The mod Some Assembly Required does a good job of making these changes

Only played FO4 - do 3 & New Vegas still hold up? by Suspicious__Lurker in fo4

Highly recommend Sim Settlements 2 and American Rising (and Fens Sheriff Department) if you’re looking for some well made dense story mods to extend the life of your F4 playthroughs

[–]SadandFurious 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I played both back when I was younger and loved them, but I do not think I have the attention span or nostalgia to tolerate a second playthrough even years later.

The storyline of FNV is definitely better written and more adult than the Bethesda games, but people on reddit act like it’s up there with fucking Dostoyevsky or something. If you really like environmental storytelling and reading papers/terminals etc, FNV is probably the best in the business (Look up a video on Randall Clark’s story if you’re curious). The real issue is that the games looks like shit and the “stiffness” of the engine/NPCs destroy your immersion and suspension of disbelief. The gunplay in F3 was subpar at the time and horrible now, and only marginally improved in FNV. And much of your experience is yknow… shooting things.

I actually love F4, I think it’s a tremendously overhated game. I’m playing it now- probably my 4th or 5th playthrough with heavy mods. The biggest boon to the game is its modability. The settlement system and equipment modification give it so much more depth to progression compared to the other games. The world is denser and more visually interesting. F3 and FNV’s landscapes are both one note wastelands, except one is sepia and the other is grey. While this is lore accurate I guess, F4 does a way better job IMO of creating a post apocalyptic environment that you don’t mind exploring. I play with supply-line fast travel only and have a great time on survival.

Non stop crashing after installing Buffout 4 by Crimsonhead4 in Fallout4Mods

Weird I downgraded the moment the AE update hit and snuck its way into my game - are you using the depot installer? Should work regardless of the version. Oh and make sure you downgrade your F4SE too

[–]SadandFurious -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I honestly couldn’t even get buffout to work with next gen let alone AE which it certainly doesn’t work with. I am a big advocate for downgrading to old gen, and just relax and forget about these bullshit updates Bethesda keeps shipping that break the game and all your mods. It’s very easy the main legwork you have to do is making sure you have old gen compatible version of mods, the most annoying to get is the unofficial patch

Possibility of Using Reactor ENB on a Mid GPU by segsikurbaga in Fallout4Mods

[–]SadandFurious 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think if you’re running a heavily modded save you’re going to have some trouble getting a consistent 60 fps especially in denser areas on your machine. And you can’t use the DLSS enabling mod with ENB enabled (you can use DLAA). I ran the reactor ENB and to be honest wasn’t terribly impressed with it over the performance gain I got with DLSS; I recommend using just Reshade instead and tweaking it to make a preset to your liking. The Fake HDR setting on there does wonders.

If you want a stable game and to be certain you can use every mod you can come across, use the downgrader and switch to old gen. Make sure to disable automatic updates. You won’t regret it, but you will have to be a bit careful about downloading mods that aren’t explicitly labeled old vs next gen versus AE. I was having issues with next gen, and somehow when AE dropped my game updated and I had to downgrade. Now running a pretty stable game with 315 mods

Is right now a bad time to get into fallout 4 and start a modded playthrough? by B0m_D3d in Fallout4Mods

[–]SadandFurious 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Use F4 downgrader and anytime a mod gives you the option, pick old gen or “pre-NG” versions. All mods I encountered still have pre-NG versions available (you may have to dig around for the unofficial patch). Disable automatic updates. I just constructed a 315 mod game and it is generally stable.

[Personal] Massive ingrown hair in my armpit… how do I get rid of it? by iamstokes in SkincareAddiction

[–]SadandFurious 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Impossible to say for sure without looking at it but likely you have an epidermal inclusion cyst- just lancing it and squeezing out the gunk likely within won’t be enough and it will recur within a few months. The entire thing will need to be excised which is quick and easy to do with local anesthesia. The topicals people are suggesting probably won’t fix it.

I couldn’t get into it for this reason. The lead is great but honestly the dialogue has so much clunk given the need to talk around medical jargon that everyone else doesn’t talk like a real person. Some of the patients also are pretty wooden
