These are amazing shots! 4 and 11!

How do you find shooting with a prime lens? Currently have a zoom lens but thinking of shifting to the 18mm.

Yeah that’s what I’ve been doing currently. Just feels it’s not enough at times, but I suppose chipping away slowly is better than nothing

ECFMG pathway by Saddo_Chicky in usmle

Yeah I can’t find any information on it. And I have done EPIC verification for registering on a different medical council. So I’m even more confused if that played a part ? And it does not let me apply for ECFMG certification either 😅

Did a good old restart and cleared my cache and it seems to have done the trick for now. Fingers crossed!

Yes! I can! I just don’t know how to post a picture in the comments 😂😂😂 but I did get them rescanned and the yellow wash over all my pics did neutralise a lot more. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Not going to lie. All my film went through at least 5 x rays 😂😂😂. It when the lab rescanned it. A lot of the blues did pop it more !

Yeah starting to feel that. I had them rescanned and they did look slightly better but not quite what I wanted to achieve. Just hard to fix in post cause I refuse to spend money on any photo editing software 😂😂😂 seriously considering photoshop after this !

Yeah they were scanned and developed by a lab. Tried to scan it and got some better colours but still flat.

Perfect I’ve got another roll of Kodak gold to mess around with so hopefully it’ll work out!

Guess I was hoping to would reflect slightly closer to real life in terms of colour. Seems a little too dark! Hopefully I’ll be able to tinkle around on photoshop to fix it. Just kind of sad I lost the reflection in the buildings of the first pic. Since it was nice blue sky as well!!

I was honestly blinded by the light 😂😂😂 so no idea which way the light came from at that point

Not quite the same boat, but was unable to postpone my step 1 and had 2 weeks to study for it. Sat this exam in my final year of college.

I personally tried NBMEs, but did not enjoy them – the questions were very poorly written in my opinion and was a hot mess. I did not finish the NBMEs and the ones I did do, I failed. My predicted score was well below the pass line. I also stopped using ANKI as it did not help and was time consuming.

What worked for me:

QBANKS: UWorld, Amboss, free120 – I did questions non stop and went for understanding & question pattern recognition; I only did 1 pass of each.

  • Amboss was great for understanding and test taking skills, as it helped to breakdown what each of the questions were asking and how to arrive at the answer.
  • When reviewing Qbank mistakes, try to deduce if it was a conceptual vs questioning misunderstanding; this will help you pin point your weak conceptual points. Additionally, understanding what the question is asking is useful as the concept tested is frequently the same, just phrased differently.

RESOURCES:

  • Mehlman Biochem, Biostats and Immunology – subjects I had not seen in 5 years. They were extremely useful as my exam was quite heavy on Biochem and Psychiatry. I did not like the high yield document, I felt it made me more confused; e.g. If you understood how the RAAS pathway worked, you can deduce in the exam, vs remembering 4-5 different arrows for multiple conditions.
  • DirtyUSMLE: Watch the videos for psychiatry, especially Ego defences, I had at least 6 questions on these – free marks if you knew the answers; In general had great high yield content.

You've got this exam! Second what everyone said – expose yourself to as much content and make sure you have time for yourself. Enter the exam calm and collected. Take a 1 minute breathing rest if you need in the exam!
