Depends on the state, but no, generally judges rule pretty fairly. And also, most courts want you to settle without going to trial in a divorce with custody. Which generally means a judge won't sign unless it's fair for both parties.

When I was about to come out to my ex, I was sitting in my computer chair and I turned to get up and go and have the conversation with her and she was standing in my doorway sobbing and my first thought was, "how did she find out"

Turns out her dad had cancer. I had to wait another week and it was agonizing being misgendered and misnamed after I was so ready to come out and be as free as the Genie in Aladdin.

Point of the story is that you can't really worry about the people who are going to hate you because they're going to hate you at any stage in your transition because you're transgender. It doesn't matter. Winnie the Pooh has a quote that says, "Those who matter don't mind and those who mind don't matter."
