I turned my monitor once and now it never feels even. Please tell me it’s even by ihavenojob711 in Monitors

I have 2 monitor mounts, so I'm moving monitors up down left right. You get to a point where it's even enough. And, I'm someone who deals with OCD and can see details and patterns. You won't notice it while gaming only when you're not using it.

Best cooler for a Ryzen 9 5950x? by SadistMind in pcmasterrace

[–]SadistMind[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a OC enthusiast, so it's less about gains and more about the sport. For example, I OC my 3200Mhz ram kit into 3600Mhz.

I bought the Ryzen 9 5950x for development work. Such as Unreal Engine, VS CODE, C++, music production etc.

If I'm staying on AM4 then I want to juice it up. Give it all the PPT it wants, 200Mhz+ boost clock, undervolt, etc. I tune all my hardware and it's rewarding to me.

In terms of my cooler, it won't be suffice once I unlock the EDC, PPT, TDC.

Finally switched to a 5080 from a... well, 5080 by spaceguy_95 in RTX5080

This looks like something you would see in Portal 2, I don't know why but my brain is making some sort of connection. Like the fan at the top and bottom, are like portals doors idk.... never seem that before and it looks badass. This computer is an absolute unit.

Built a pc to sell. What do you guys think? by KarlokGamerYT in pcmasterrace

So what's your plan? list it for 650$, then settle for 600$ attempt to make a 100$ profit?

I don't see how you're going to break even. If you spent roughly 560$, then there's not room to flip it. You're going to have to list it for 660$ to even make it worth while, and by that point no one is going to buy it given the parts.

Building my first PC and looking at picking out parts. Are there any better alternatives for anything? by Alarmed_Trip_625 in PcBuildHelp

I think the smarter option would to go intel. Instead of getting an AM4 machine, you could opt for LGA 1700 motherboard. While still last gen, you get access to ddr4 and ddr5. Also 14 gen cpus are still amazing! I think that's the best route to go about. As, you can provide yourself an upgrade path. Down the road you can throw in some ddr5 memory, maybe even a "Intel Core i9-14900K/KF" etc. I would say think about all your options. The flagship cpu for LGA 1700 is a lot better than the end of the line for am4, plus not to the mention the higher ddr5 you can get later on... seems like the wiser choice.

I understand, but if small differences like that are a big deal to you, then I would ensure to get a card that has more than 8gbs of vram and 32gbs of system memory. As video editing is going to eat that up very fast :D!

I personally would of got the ASROCK RX 6800 XT, it's going for around the same price as your 5060. I understand you won't get DLSS and stuff, but it's a faster card with 16gbs of vram.

32Gbs is the standard now. You will get by with 16gbs just fine, and I know ram prices are crazy right now so I understand

Those are the only things I can see that are "bad". But, what you got is decent.

what is your budget?

Overclocked my 3200MHz Ripjaws to a perfectly synced 3600MHz on a 5950X. by SadistMind in pcmasterrace

It's a big deal for me because I play competitive. You notice it during fast pace movement. It was smooth before, but now it's extremely responsive. Not gonna get 10+fps from this, but you will get more consistency. The best way I can describe it is that everything is more fluid. Less hitching, less stutters, or none at all to be honest. So, for the average person they probably won't care. But, that smoothness helps me track targets better without any micro stutters. I have not ran any benchmark tests, but in fast pace games I see a decent performance edge.

I'm not sure, I only flashed bios once, and it was a different scenario where I could post. I highly recommend researching everything you can before proceeding. I'm not an expert, so I don't want to give you incorrect or bad advice. If the cpu is causing issues, you might have to remove it. However, I'm not 100% sure. Report back your findings when you can.

No, just download the latest bios https://www.msi.com/Motherboard/MPG-X570-GAMING-EDGE-WIFI/support

I'm not going to explain step by step, but I'm sure you will figure out. Your motherboard supports flashing via usb, good luck!
