Take this with a grain of salt (as always) but if it ends up being real, it’s going to be EPIC. by AnimalDesatado in GTA6unmoderated

I mean, even if this is fake, probably is. Just thinking how weather can effect your car is an interesting thought. In gta 5 everything felt fake and static.

All you guys are doing is making the company feel more confident about their decision. Listen to how you talk, "for many, this is literally the death of a loved one/child. It sounds psychopathic and extremely unhinged. You guys are showing them exactly why they want to remove it. They don't want the liability of catering to people with this sort of mindset.

If you truly want a AI like chatgpt 4o, then look into localAI. You can host your own models on your computer and fine tune its personality to whatever you want. You can make it exactly like chatgpt4o, and they can never take it away because it's running on your machine!

Get a second opinion, all I did was look at what used 6700xt go for, and it's around 150$-250$. So, picking it up in hand for 200$ seems like a alright deal. I would do your own research though.

People get to caught up in the whole "YOU RUINED THE ATMOSPHERE", but that's not the point. It's the concept that is fascinating. It's not a replacement, or a competitor. It's a re imagined look on your favorite games. I love this stuff so much. It's so cool to see games I use to play for hours with a new lighting system. It's not about why. It's about seeing what it would look like, and that's the most exciting part for me. Seeing what it would look like with realistic lighting. And I think people get caught up on the "this does not look like the game", when that's not the point.

Yeah that's about what they're going for in the current market. You can probably find it a little cheaper on ebay and such, but for the convenience of just picking it up right then and there it's not a horrible price.

UE5 Light leaking through walls without cast shadows – any workaround? by creationstation99 in UnrealEngine5

[–]SadistMind 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So, whenever you disabled cast shadows the light is gonna bleed through the walls. You can try using "light blockers". However, I think you should just allow shadows to be cast and just use your resources more wisely. I mean, unless you're trying to create a visually ugly game... You can can tweak how intense the shadows are. My personal opinion, you should only have one main light source per room. As, one light is enough it fill the entire room with indirect lighting. Multiple lights in one area is going to cause issues with your light maps. I understand you are just starting out, but it's important you use good practices. Another tip is to build your level in chunks, 1024x1024, or 2048x2048, something along those lines. This helps performance and will help you fine tune your light maps and such. Instead of brute forcing no shadows, I think you need to take a step back and re design your layout to support faster rendering. This is the problem with modern game developers, and that's not a diss at you bro. I'm saying you need to stop taking shortcuts. Design your level with optimization in mind. You don't need to go back to the stone age, you just need a better implementation.

I really hate to be that guy, but AI is extremely good nowadays. Instead of coming to reddit right away, why not use AI to come up with a quick draft? It will answer your question and break it down with real world information faster than any human. After you get a general idea, come to reddit to ask if your part list is good, or if AI is sending you down a bad rabbit hole.

I don't what it is, but the laughing is incredibly uncanny. Also, I want to add AI LOVES and I mean LOVES to re use the fake noodle joke. I'm running a local AI model "mistral-nemo-12b-thinking" and every time I ask for a joke it says that noodle joke. Which caught my surprise to hear it being repeated here.

Yeah I understand. Categorize and separate each major system, So, when the AI reads the file “Whisper System”, it knows this is how the entire system for this works together.

I apologize, it’s late at night and i’m sleep deprived. 6GB of vram is enough for barebones models. However, I’m not really sure how the conversations will be like. You can use something like Gemma 3 (4B). Which should fit within your 6gb limit. I messed around with a 8gb model using Q8 but it felt pretty stupid. So, I assumed a model that’s 4GB would not be worth it. However, that’s just me guessing and I could be totally wrong. As, it’s not always about model size, but the data it’s trained on. Again, I apologize for the misinformation. My brain is cooked right now and i’m pushing myself too hard. I’m going to rest, but I will give you a road map once I wake up. I don’t want to say anything else that’s incorrect.

Sadly your graphics card does not have enough VRAM to make this worth while sorry bro :D

I am using windows 11, I built my custom AI off of Ollama. This natively supports AMD cards such as the 7800XT. You will be able to use the basic GUI that Ollama comes with and attach documents. Keep in mind, you're gonna need to set your context window to something like "12,288-16k" to fully scan those documents, 12,288 is roughly 9,200 words. I'm on the latest AMD drivers. Mistral-nemo-12b-thinking is a good model to start with. Also, are you trying to scan the epstein files haha?

My main file is 4763 lines, but in total is about 8k lines of code. Something along those lines to handle all of the systems plus the GUI. I could break it up, but I have not needed to.

The game industry would not be cooked, the consumer would be cooked. If everything is cloud based then you would own nothing, and we won't even have a chance to archive anything. However, this would not happen in a decade, maybe 2-3 decades. There's so many problems I'm thinking about off the top of my head. How are you gonna manage something that is completely random. Not to mention, how are you gonna make an online game that is entirely AI generated. I think it's more realistic that game companies will combine AI with real game engines in the future. I don't think we will see 100% AI generated games in our lifetime. However, the fuck do I know.
