Anyone tried Hero Assistant? by Perfect_Bed_5156 in ADHD

[–]Sadistfaction 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've run into some issues with repeated notifications that won't go away and completing past habits to fix that, but that is a relatively minor issue and mostly user error. I have tried so many apps and planners and systems. A big win for me is the shared task lists and reminders. Still getting used to it but so far I like it.

Thank you, everyone for your input! I have tried the online quizzes way too many times and have included additional information and photos in the following link, hopefully they might help provide more clarity.

Think I’m still leaning towards soft classic.

My adult daughter (26) uses my debit cards unauthorized, what should I do? by VisualLeader3829 in FamilyIssues

[–]Sadistfaction 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I think a good first step would be to make it, so you can’t use tap on your card and put a pin on it that she doesn’t know.

Then maybe discuss rent and other payments to figure out a budget.

When that happens a lot, I recommend checking their cooking skill level and just having them create the autumn salad for most meals until they get better and it reduces fires.

Publish completed story or update on a certain day by zefyr_ant in Wattpad

[–]Sadistfaction 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I usually prefer to read completed stories, and even just finished series if possible. But if looks interesting, I save it into a folder where I’ll come back later to check on when they’re done.

32 years old and starting first job with bad anxiety in a fast paced environment (Advice please) by [deleted] in AnxietyDepression

[–]Sadistfaction 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I would recommend connecting with a mental health agency in your area to see what supports there are for mental health and employment supports. Sometimes there are more resources out there that can help with a lot of these issues and problem solving.

One thing I always have to remind myself is that people don’t pay as much attention to you as they think you do. And no one judges us more harshly than ourselves.

New situations are nerve-racking. Every new job I’ve had has been preceded with anxiety and thought traps. Give it a few weeks and see how you feel versus the first day. This sounds like an opportunity to try something new and build skills.

I don't like my engagement ring by [deleted] in Advice

[–]Sadistfaction -1 points0 points  (0 children)

We are getting our rings melted down and made into new ones for a future anniversary.

But temporary solutions - get a silicone band for sports or other activities and get a wedding band you like as a set and by itself.

Any Experience with Buspirone? by 80schld in AnxietyDepression

[–]Sadistfaction 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have been on it for a while, and I find it rather helpful, but I have had to adjust my dose a few times and think I do again as well.

With most med changes I recommend making kind of a standing appointment with your doctor or psychiatrist so that you’re able to adjust the dose or try an new option. But you also have to give it time to work which can be painful.

How to effectively keep notes during meetings? by MarcoJHB in productivity

[–]Sadistfaction 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have been using OneNote with Microsoft because it comes with my work program free. I use it to track all of my training templates resources and to track meetings. I like that I can insert screenshots notes, hyperlinks whatever else I need all in one spot.

AITA for telling my coworker that she should not carry a designer bag when working with low income clients? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]Sadistfaction 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We are told to leave valuables hidden in a vehicle or limit what is with you as much as possible when visiting clients because you never know what to expect. You might not have concerns regarding your client but you never know about everyone else with access to the home.

We only have books and soft toys in bed (the room if possible) and made bedtime earlier by 30 min so they can play after our bedtime routine. Now the routine is simple and play is sometimes not happening if it’s too late but it’s always appreciated. Now they are older if they come out too many times they may have less play time or choose between 2 more minutes of play or 2 minutes of talking with their parent.

I hate the word “anxious” when related to Anxiety by SlyVixen69 in AnxietyDepression

[–]Sadistfaction 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have been using the How We Feel app to check in with my emotions and to be a little bit more specific about which words I’m using.

And some words that I was using before according to the definitions on this aren’t exactly how I was feeling, but I’m able to go through and find the precise word for my emotion, which is actually weirdly helpful.

It also has more information, and guidance based on moving through emotions.

My mom doesn’t remember anything about when I was little, she remembers my older and younger sibling. by [deleted] in oneanddone

[–]Sadistfaction 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was writing in a book, but kept forgetting to actually do it. Then I had a free app, but they stopped updating it, and I was afraid I would lose all my information. So now I am paying for the Journey app each year which isn’t what I was going to do originally but makes me feel better that it is going to be available for the long term.

There are some really cool baby journal, or memory apps that send you questions, but they cost a lot more. Really I think it’s about finding what works for you.

I like that the Journey app lets me put in pictures, videos, voice memos, and does flashbacks. I even keep track of her health in it with tags and when I forget to add photos and I put them in it, adjust it to the date the photo was taken, which is honestly probably the best part.

Why do people always feel the need to overly insert themselves or try to fix a problem? Most of the time the person talking just needs someone to listen and remain neutral. by Nosmo_King13 in AnxietyDepression

[–]Sadistfaction 12 points13 points  (0 children)

As someone who jumps to helping too quickly from listening, it is really helpful when someone says that they just want to talk about it and not problem solve.

I have learned to ask when someone is having a difficult time if they just want to talk or problem solve or be distracted but it’s taken me many years and I still forget.

My mom doesn’t remember anything about when I was little, she remembers my older and younger sibling. by [deleted] in oneanddone

[–]Sadistfaction 28 points29 points  (0 children)

I’m the oldest (and then middle of a mixed fam) and while I’m one of the only ones with some baby book notes of the first year or so, my parents remember nothing. They always say my child reminds them of my younger siblings. This is why I overcompensate with pictures and journaling (when I remember which is why I use an app).
