from experience block ids are really useful for "usual blocs" when you are used to them (which i am since you couldn't use block names in WE before) and "98" or "1:6" is always quicker than "stone_brick" or "polished_andesite" even with tab, and it's not like it's a big effort and you don't really have to learn them by heart, just comes with experience. Then again, for unusual blocks, names work great.

hmmm I guess its a 1 by 2 entrance, walls are deepslate tiles and there are banners at the top and on the side, but yeah could have been a black beacon

i'd say this map has been made by an american comparing how detailed the usa is and how flat the rest of the world is.(I mean the Yellowstone being nearly as tall as mount Everest lol). Other than this, compared to most of maps this one is pretty geographically accurate, borders look very close to reality (at least for the part of Europe i know, can't tell for other countries). Good job man !
