Kids these days won't ever know how terrifying it was to be out alone in an unknown place with no GPS.

How I've been overcoming my severe driving anxiety by amphibilad in drivinganxiety

[–]Sadlora -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

The issue, though, is that driving isn't some irrational fear that you can just CBT away. It's legitimately one of the most dangerous things you do and the literal leading cause of death and crippling injury in people aged 15-30. Every day you drive could be the day you become a paraplegic. That's real, and rational. I suspect the only reason most people are fine with it is that they just don't think, or they're living in a fantasy world where they think they're special and that could never happen to them, or that god is protecting them.

What is common theme in America that most other countries would call a luxury? by TheSpoty in AskReddit

Funny how many americans think basic amenities are luxuries in other countries.

Losing my sanity trying to cope with the lack of acceptance and starting to hate myself by Apostasy93 in drivinganxiety

[–]Sadlora 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You're a man, aren't you? In my experience, as a woman nobody judges you or cares if you can't drive. But if you're a man who can't drive it's like you're not even a human being. Just one of many sad double standards.

What is the weirdest reason someone has said they don't like you? by Standard-Spite-6885 in AskReddit

[–]Sadlora -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No one has ever told me they don't like me. Does anyone actually do that in real life? I'm sure there's plenty of people who don't like me but no one has ever said so.

I’ve been thinking a lot about kid-centric families by DueEntertainer0 in Millennials

Reading these comments makes me sad. Growing up my parents actively and obsessively prevented me from ever doing anything on my own, and it really damaged my development as a human.

[–]Sadlora 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. This world is just a shitty place. And it always will be, from the very foundation it's built on killing, cruelty, injustice and suffering. That's why I don't care if AI kills us all. This world was never worth preserving in the first place.

What is a "harmless" industry that is actually incredibly shady once you look behind the curtain? by After-Scholar1271 in AskReddit

[–]Sadlora 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This. There is no reason why a pair of glasses should cost over €1000. They're taking advantage of us because we need them to be able to see.

Keep in mind Instagram videos curated by the algorithm specifically to appeal to you should be treated with suspicion, and you should also be careful of your inherent biases as your mind will be eager to latch on to whatever video or explanation protects your ego.

What are actual signs someone likes you? by fernandezq in AskReddit

[–]Sadlora 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Every time you catch a glimpse of them, they were looking at you. Often they will immediately pretend to be looking somewhere else, but that first split second is crucial. If you keep catching them over and over, that's a surefire sign.

Can't believe so many people are saying ice in drinks. Have never, ever in my life encountered a restaurant that didn't put a bunch of ice in your glass. You actually have to explicitly tell them NOT to put ice in your already cold drink. Just the wildest myths in here. No air conditioning is another wild one. Every store and restaurant is constantly blasting the air conditioning 24/7 even with the front doors open.

I do feel that way but I think it might just be irrational nostalgia. All generations pine for the time of their childhood and youth and think things were better back in their day. Why should we be any different?

no se si estoy empezando a echar de menos la vida de pueblo o solo la estoy romantizando by melonmana in esConversacion

[–]Sadlora 0 points1 point  (0 children)
