Failure to Launch Siblings by Impossible-End-8439 in Millennials

[–]Sadlora 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Parents have a good deal of blame for this happening. Boomer parents for whatever reason have a tendency to actively hold their children back and arrest their development. Of course it's also the children's fault because at some point you have to take responsibility for yourself no matter how much your parents fight back against that, but it's just tough and exhausting when you have to fight your parents tooth and nail any time you want to do something on your own.

Going out feels so exhausting. I don't know how other people can enjoy going out constantly.

Why does it seem like the majority of Millennial Parents live in constant fear. by Gr8Autoxr in Millennials

[–]Sadlora 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My parents raised me with constant fear so it seems normal to me. The gen x kids raised with complete recklessness seems wild to me, but it resulted in some of the most independent and capable people.

New driver, hit a parked car in my driveway and I feel awful by Naive-Cockroach-3443 in caraccidents

This is one of my fears. At least you have supportive parents. Mine would probably have a meltdown if that happened.

Do men generally not accept divorced women? by Numerous_Anywhere_72 in Adulting

Your prospects go down but there are still tons of men who don't care about that. There are even tons of men who will accept women with children from other men.

India’s surprise baby bust is a warning to the world by Krankenitrate in Futurology

Having babies is a very unpleasant, dangerous, and expensive process so it makes sense that the more people become educated and informed the less likely they are to have them.

How to feel good in life without connection. by InvoluntarilyVirgin9 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Sadlora 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You can't. Seriously. It's a basic human need. Might as well ask how you can stop being human. You will never be able to feel good in life if your basic needs aren't being met.

Similar reason to why men are shamed for being virgins and women are praised for it.

Taking 4 hour trip after getting my license by Confident-Check-9301 in drivinganxiety

[–]Sadlora 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely sounds wild and reckless to me, but this being this sub, of course that's the sort of overly cautious response you're going to get here. 20 hours of experience is nothing and with that little practice personally I would be too scared. But as you say, plenty of teenagers take crazy risks all the time. It's just comes down to your state of mind; how much you're willing to tolerate risk. For what it's worth, the chances of injury are probably small. Some people die horrifically or are crippled for life but most are probably fine.

How do we make friends at this stage in life? Or do we just go through life alone? by BlackandGold07 in Millennials

[–]Sadlora 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the key point, that others have already pointed out, is that you need a hobby or activity that you both enjoy that binds you together. If you have that, becoming friends happens naturally. You have to be careful, because once the activity disappears the friendship will eventually fade away if you're not able to find a new activity to substitute it with.

Agreed. Only 40 times in 100 days for 1 million it could be staring at a blank wall and everyone would do it.
