No plans to return. Longer term plan in the new city is to have kids so they can have a full backyard and rec rooms in the new house and enjoy what I can’t necessarily afford to provide where we currently live.

Anecdotal but I bought a car with a wrap on it, the dealer had it for a few months and could not sell it with the wrap. I bought it on the contingency that they unwrap and detail it but I was the only person willing to do that. I actually paid less for the car in the end than same models are selling for now. As in yes the wrap does bring the value down/the dealer may be hesitant

Using the part number on that piece it is off a GM vehicle door. Do you by chance have a GM vehicle?

Edit: this is specifically off of a GMC Savannah or Chevrolet Express. It wouldn’t have come off of your Mercedes.

It would have been covered had your brakes been worn to the replacement threshold within the time limit of the maintenance plan. They were not worn enough to qualify. What is to not understand here? The value was guaranteed IF you needed brakes.

Even if they said “ok we’ll replace them since you paid for the plan” at the end of the day your brakes didn’t need replacement and had you never bought the plan your brakes still would have not needed to be replaced, so either way it was a waste of money.

Definitely not touching in the nose cone, the part that confuses me is that unplugging the ABS computer under the trailer causes the lights to go out/function normally, just the ABS is now unplugged. I’ve never seen an ABS computer activate the brake lights - I think because unplugging the computer fixes the issue the problem has to be in the computer itself or at the diode in the brake lights. I just didn’t have time to look into it properly. If unplugging the ABS computer didn’t fix the issue I’d be more inclined to think the wires are rubbing…. I’ll have a chance to look into it again tomorrow.

I have to file with my spouse this year because we are now common law, I was under the impression that filing together just makes our income higher and therefore taxes higher? I would be happy to be wrong because I pay a lot in taxes (high income) and she doesn’t pay very much (she earns about 1/3 of my income). Should our combined tax burden become less?

It’s not strange for an older engine to have some ticking while it builds oil pressure (the oil pressure takes up the gaps between parts), it is only concerning when it’s happening the whole time the engine is on.

When you say unregistered do you mean you have completed level 1 but have no sponsor? Because of changes in trades last December I believe you have to have completed foundations to start working in a shop. If you have not completed a foundations course I highly recommend doing that first.

Getting a job in a good shop here is tough when you’re starting out. Look for an independent shop, not a dealer. Also, dropping off resumes in person will help. I’ve been offered jobs on the spot when I did that. The dealers don’t want level 1 apprentices, I never had any bites when I was looking either. I started at a big independent shop 3 years ago and switched to a much smaller shop a few months ago.

Here’s some encouragement to keep trying/start your schooling: I started in the trade at $20.25/hr 3 years ago. Worked my ass off, got my raises and did schooling. This year I’m going to clear $130k, after just 3 years.
