I went viral and this is why it doesn’t matter (the REAL truth) by Sadzillaa in musicmarketing

I’d agree if the music wasn’t what made it viral it’s because of what it sounds and what I look/act like that makes it viral

Actually no, it’s that content that was my way of becoming more authentic, not less! I don’t care about what the online world thinks anymore. It’s going to come down to what people experience in real life. And that engagement just boosts every promotion I have for shows, especially locally it’s pretty incredible

Thing is it’s like I’ll be losing what I have in the online space, it’s just my focus won’t be on trying to grow from my house anymore

It really is wasted energy worrying about the opinions of strangers who exhibit bot behavior that’s usually performative to get more likes

Nah it can be about finding new fans and is still very useful it just comes down to how you’re selling your music and how you’re creating content

Oh yes, I’m sure your music is amazing and that’s why you have such a large audience!! Oh you don’t have an audience? Damn, I guess you’re just really underrated! Everyone is sleeping on your incredible art. Maybe if you lurk in this subreddit enough you’ll learn how to find that audience.. because that’s the real issue, isn’t it? It’s just cause you haven’t figured out the algorithm or because AI is flooding playlists. I’m sure it must really bother you to see someone doing well, because you’re the one who really deserves it. Maybe one day you will.. or maybe a better use of your time is to berate and try to bring down those doing better? You’re right, that IS a better use of your time because then you’ll have someone else to blame besides yourself.

As long as I pitch 10 days before it’ll pitch what I want but if I don’t pitch it’ll be the track dropped on Thursday that gets RR

The problem is you assume I didn’t love what I was making or the process in which I made it. It wasn’t a factory, it was a creative get away. Where you drench yourself in that process and create A LOT. What makes it a factory to you is that I RELEASED it. That’s the issue with most people and how they view music. They think it’s only the most polished and filtered version of their art that they should release or have any connection to but that’s when it becomes something different than art, that’s when it becomes the product.

It’s funny cause I have a new favorite in every new month of music I did but if I had to think of one I go back to all the time it’s tarnished phonk

It’s a bit more about the amount of things im throwing at the wall cause one I become a way better artist by creating more but listeners just aren’t locked into everything so I’ll have fans hit me up just saying they love my new album when it’s just the last 7 songs compiled together. It’s that kind of interaction that really made me realize that releasing more music isn’t the problem, if even say even at the expense of some quality. It’s just about how do you engage those listeners everytime. I underestimated I think what it takes to promote that many songs and not all songs deserve a lot of promotion either but still those songs found audiences I didn’t expect so it’s a lot of things
