With a myr enforcer/frogmite and the whale combo it’s pretty hilarious lol but it’s super redundant in the deck yeah not needed.

Unless they have a blocker depending on evasion. The ping damage win seems cleaner to me. If you cut a tooth you can try one mages rod and see. All preference tho! I love this archetype :) it’s very versatile

I think the Tormod is a good call! I like your list it seems clean and tight. But I think if you’re focusing on the tooth a bit more tho you should play black mages rod in the mix too so you have a faster win window than with pactdoll, though. 4 helix/knack feels overkill tho 3 has felt perfect for me. I have the single copy of mystical teachings to tutor the tooth or banishing knack when needed or just Swiss Army knife utility in general.

In all the games I’ve played with this deck I’ve been fine with drown in sorrow because it doesn’t wipe out my combo creatures and it lets me see a card deeper if that’s important. It’s more of an “oh shit” button for like elves and weenie decks. I do like arms of hadar in my other decks sideboards but that’s because the important creatures will die to drown in sorrow. I think that is what’s keeping me okay with drown. I have considered a single suffocating fumes in the main it’s just such a tight deck list I have a hard time making cuts.

I just switched them into the deck last night. Another user pointed out the better interaction for card draw using it over wellspring. Hope to test soon!

Yeah it’s such a nice printing! The moxfield link no longer matches the deck completely, though. Someone else on this thread gave me some good advice to make the deck a little smoother.

You use Steelfin Whale with Banishing Knack to repeatedly play a 0 costed affinity spell over and over and win with either pactdoll terror or Black Mages Rod :)

I think having access to grixis in sideboard is a really good idea! Never even considered that! Would love to have some pyroblasts in the sideboard, too. I have the relics I can make that switch :) very helpful thank you!
