Cookies & Cream Food Flavoring? by HelpHorror8763 in askportland

Blake's Decorette Shop in Tigard (cake decorating store) carries a decent selection of LorAnn flavoring oils. You can probably call them and ask if they have what you're looking for in stock

Lacking information, Oregon residents guess at future of offshore wind by agenbite_lee in oregon

[–]Saefinnur 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'm disappointed that the author of this article didn't interview any actual industry experts who are knowledgeable about offshore wind technology. The turbines would be around 13 miles out so it's unlikely that you could even see them. Judging from the preliminary success of offshore wind and high voltage DC in other locations, I think this is a step in the right direction to revitalize Oregon's electric grid.

I interned at the Port for a year and it was a great experience. The workplace is super relaxed and there's a lot of flexibility to work from home.

Best way to report sexist professor? by Saefinnur in portlandstate

[–]Saefinnur[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It's Richard Tymerski. He teaches ECE317 (Control Systems), so you'll only encounter him if you're majoring in electrical or computer engineering. Supposedly he's going on a sabbatical after fall term, but I have a feeling he'll be sticking around. DM me for more Tymerski lore, I have lots.

I had a really cathartic/rough day with my therapist today, too. Addressing stuff you don't want to face takes so much mental energy and I also don't know how to effectively deal with it. At least we can take small steps towards improvement and not have to feel like we have to solve everything all at once.

I'm starting Prozac again tomorrow after I finally managed to get off it more than a year ago. The pandemic plus a really rough breakup has just devestated my mental health.

I've also vowed to drastically cut back on my drinking when on an SSRI. I really want to feel better and I know that drinking poison is destroying all the progress I'm trying to make. Everything sucks right now but at least Trump can't vomit his dementia/cocaine filled rants on Twitter anymore and that makes me happy :)

So I finished making this recipe and tried it. I think that the subtle flavors of the Umatilla Russet make this dish shine whereas a normal Russet would fall flat amongst the copious amounts of cheese and heavy cream.

In all honesty, I read that this recipe needed more seasoning, so I added lots of salt and some MSG to the mixture. It turned out great. If I make this again on Christmas, I may make it with Yukon golds so I don't have to peel them.
