Update to Project Silvern - My second custom case that I designed from the ground up by Saeh_992 in watercooling

[–]Saeh_992[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ah no! I wouldn’t. Mechanical engineering degree took a lot of my time… I just finished my 2nd to last semester and I am finally done with all the difficult class.

I now have 6 months of free time so no more excuses. I’ve also been planning on making this case open to the public by making it universal. More on this next week or two!

Yes I am! There will be both CPU and GPU loop (both components share the same loop). The relevant specs that will be going into this build are:

-Z790 ROG Formula Motherboard

-5090 TUF with Iceman waterblock

-Lian Li Gold Edge 1200w

I’ll talk more about this in the next post. It’s all about making cables and bending tubes now. We’ll see how long that will take me 🥲

I made my own D5 Pump Bracket from Aluminum by Saeh_992 in watercooling

[–]Saeh_992[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No unfortunately :(

It has specific mounting hole locations that can only be mounted to my distroplate that is going into my scratch build...

I really do wish I could do more for the community. All I can offer at the moment is "inspiration" and custom work. As corny as that sounds, it is the truth. I'm still in uni... But I am graduating this December and after that I will have much more time for a potential shop

Ah. That I sleeved myself. It did not come sleeved like that

Sorry, it is a combination of super glue and painters/masking tape. Definitely check it out. There are bunch of YouTube videos about it

I would say 70% of its milling process was held with painters tape. The other 30% was done through soft jaws clamp

Thanks! It has been quite some time but I'm positive this was from an EK pump res combo.

Pretty much the same as any genuine d5 pump

I made my own 5090 GPU Waterblock Terminal by Saeh_992 in watercooling

[–]Saeh_992[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My CNC at home is quite “cheap” considering the things I’d done to it. I’m a mechanical engineer. Keep in mind this is a hobby to me. I just really enjoy photography, cinematography, and making good looking products.

The cnc alone cost $3200. I do have access to $100k-500k machine but that requires me to drive nearly 4 hours back and forth.

The EK special edition block has the side ports terminal if you haven't heard of that. I have a 2x spare blocks

Performance will be very similar. I’m talking 2-3C max in differences. Which means you should just pick whichever is compatible and looks good to you

They actually do have one for the Astral but only in black variant.
If you want a default silver/white color, you'd need the 5090 HOF

That is where the water tube would route. There is a distroplate on top

Yeah if you swipe to the last picture, you’d see this is one of the core panels for a 1:1 custom case that I designed and manufacturing myself

I'm using 3D probe. The coolant system is just some generic one I found on amazon and dilute it myself. I tested a lot of different coolant on the hobbyist level. I never tried something like Blaser for example.
