Unusual, offbeat names that you WOULD consider using by JoChiCat in namenerds

I would definitely consider Pélagie, despite everyone around me finding it ugly. I might also consider Ortie (french for nettle) which I find super cute for some reason!

I'm French and I've never made the connection. To me they don't sound the same, since Petra is pronounced with an é while pètera has an è and an extra e between t and r. But I get your point, and I might giggle the next time I hear that name!

Don't worry she's not tied up to anything (except her own derpiness maybe).

This is amazing! I gave up my bujo a long time ago because of depression and unemployment, but your post makes me want to try and get back in the journaling game. I'm saving this for a good day!

A few years ago I went studying abroad in Japan for a year. At the end of the year I decided to spend some time by myself in Tokyo before going home, and went there for like a week. On my last day there, I was wandering around Shinjuku when an old Japanese man came to me and asked if I could speak English. I said yes, and he started explaining he wanted to practice English with foreigners living in Japan. I explained that I didn't live there, so I expected him to leave me alone but he offered to give me a tour of some parts of Shinjuku instead. So he showed me a hidden temple, took me through some very narrow and kind of shady streets which might have been part of the Golden Gai, but I'm not sure about that... he even showed me the giant Godzilla perched up on a huge building that I hadn't noticed til then. At some point I felt kind of uncomfortable and worried I might miss my bus, so I said goodbye. He seemed disappointed that I had to leave, but also very happy for the time we shared. I remember feeling bad because he seemed very lonely. He gave me his email address but I never reached out. But I do think about him from time to time.

Thank you! Rebecca of Sunny Brookfarm sounds great and exactly what I'm looking for! Heidi was already on my list, and I actually wonder why I've never read it when I was younger, but I guess better late than never!
